The sheep that need to be told which specific day they should appreciate their mothers......by the people trying to sell them loads of over-priced stuff
I agree with the commercialisation point, which is what most of these holidays are becoming.
But to call people sheep for wishing a happy mothers day? Poor from you deepcut
Perhaps, but I really don't like these made up days that everyone feels pressured into adhering to, and it gets reinforced and amplified each year, and it becomes meaningless. Suddenly it isn't a special thing, it's just something that causes grief if you miss it.
Treat at your loved one's well all the time, and treat them to stuff randomly at unexpected points during the year. Make your mum breakfast in bed when it's unexpected, it'll be appreciated far more.
Send your loved one roses to her workplace in the middle of the week randomly not just on Valentine's Day. Much more effective, and won't be subject to the obscene overpricing that happens on the prescribed day.
Agree deepcut, but its got to the point now where if you don't do all of the above on the exact days its aggro. But valentines can truly poke and thankfully the Mrs agrees
