We didn't sign him because he wasn't good enough, we couldn't get a work permit for him.

Agree with you on this one Jimmy.. He had a great attitude.. I remember him giving his shirt to youngsters after each game. Just didn't play very well last season

Well pointed out. Another example of blinkered fans.

Was more a sarcastic observation regarding zapata. I today noticed he scored twice & remembered we said no thanx. Now playing for Napoli. R we lucky? or is he lucky?

Difficult to say. It seemed more that we thought he was a "wrong fit" rather than not good enough though.

um... mbia asked barton to swap places with him as soon as we got relegated didn't he?

oh no... i remember, his account got hacked. thankfully the hackers didn't seem to be bothered with getting his credit card info... just sending tweets saying he wanted out.

IMO - He needs too much time on the ball and is not up to the physical side of English football.

Which is why abroad he is actualy quite good as he uses the extra time to control the ball, and gets fould when they touch him as that is what they give abroad.

Never actualy questioned his effort as I do think he tried hard, but wouldnt have him back as he was just was too weak and needed 2 many touchs to control the ball.
One for all.... and all for one

Total liability anywhere on the field.
