I'm sure we'll get a better deal than Orient, Doncaster, Scunthorpe etc but let's not get too carried away here, especially without knowing any numbers. Nike have kit deals with a lot of clubs, doesn't make us special.
Im not carried away, but im not going to turn positive news into bad news for nothing, like some.
Oh and shock horror, the worlds largest sports company has contracts woth other clubs, small ones and big ones. Thanks for pointing that out. Could you let me know what day comes after mondays please?

I'm certainly not saying it's bad news, but I'm not looking at is as good news yet, deal may be fantastic, but we have no figures yet.

I'm not going to fap myself into a frenzy just because they'll be a little tick on our template kits and training tops for the next few years.

Fap into a frenzy? Whos doing that? How about just say nothing or say 'nikes a big company, good news this'.

I dont have any concerns whatsoever, i was simply pointing out that some people creaming their pants because we've signed a deal with Nike are getting a bit carried away, and for what exactly.....?

Cant see no frenzys, can just see some people saying its good news, cos they are intelligent enough to know a five year deal with the worlds biggest sports company can only be worth money to the club, and equals good progress taking the club forwards.
Or do you think we are paying them and it could make the club skint and close down?

Nobody was saying it was bad news as you suggested either.

It's a step in the right direction and there was a bidding war going on between a few companies, Adidas included.

                    Who's thick exactly..???

So you think that if we stay with the same supplier we'd get the same deal we managed to blag for this last contract....???? really?

We've gone backwards recently and our bargaining ability has dropped as a result. Add to that the fact the deal was surprisingly inflated in the first instnace and we were all amazed we managed to get it. Therefore it wouldnt happen again.

Then factor in this is Nike.... Do you think they desperately wanted to be associated with QPR...... ?? Obviously not. We're nothing to them and offer no strategic benefit whatsoever, therefore we need them more than they need us and as a result i'd be surprised if the numbers on this deal are that great.

TF and co will be wanting to use the Nike brand to help promote QPR and will factor a worth that comes from that into any discussions internally. Therefore i personally dont care what the numbers are becasue it's clearly good enough for the owners, so it's good enough for me. I just wont wet myself with excitement either as this wont improve our team.

Maybe it wasn't as big news as some had hoped for... but its definitely not a bad thing.

Are you really this annoyed that some people aren't excited about this?

Yes they do want to be associated with us, of course they do . The maylasian airlines link and proposed new stadium make us a massive pull actually.

No course not, just cant believe people are whining instead of either saying nothing or just enjoying 'positive news' for the club. So much negativity on this forum, sometimes it could be confused with a 'manic depressives' forum. Even good news gets mugged off with doom and gloom comments.

                                Pros: Nice pay cheque

Cons: Nike kits are always plain and boring
I should probably write something insightful here
