So many people in this thread have said they are, but you (and one other now) stand alone denying it.
"its not me, its everyone else whos wrong'
You just follow the crowd Ray, this thread is full of supporters who love to discuss football violence even the title of the thread alludes to it.

I can say with confidence 95% of Rangers fans would be oblivious or wouldn't give a dam about this so called rivalry.

There maybe a few hundred Rangers fans who don't like Luton. For some reason we have a large number of middle aged men on here who like to discuss football violence...each to their own and all that but they are not representative of the majority.

Do you ever converse with all supporters of your team or just pick and choose what intellect they are and class all us middle agers as hooligan types because we have a view on an age you were too young to have witnessed.

            • Luton B@stard Town. There is a rivalry!

It's good that only middle aged men are interested in FV - it means the world of football has moved on from that whole ridiculous scenario of groups of cowardly gangs of idi0ts hurting innocent people and fighting each other in the name of a football club - a club who wants nothing to do with them, mind you!
'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

No I class middle aged hooligan types based on the endless posts on here about Football Violence from a dozen or so posters on here who are clearly middle aged.

I may have been to young to have witnessed what happened in the eighties but then I never witness football violence because I'm able to steer clear of this sort of behaviour whenever I go football

Chelsea and nowadays Fulham. Football rivalries to me are local and though so many seem to have an issue with admitting Fulham are rivals nowadays they are.

If I have no violent intentions regardless of age how could I see Luton as a rival, each to their own but the so rivalry with Luton is about bad blood between supporters. Not like most of us can have banter with Luton fans as most of us probably don't know any.

                • W12 this has turned into a decent debate. On the basis then of a rivalry being local would you not base Man Utd and Leeds, Man Utd and Liverpool or Chelsea Leeds as rivalries'??

Each hate each other with a passion

We tend to have local rivaries in London because we are such a big city up North rivalries tend to be between cities and towns.

There are rivalries which have there roots firmly in football violence though such Millwall / Cardiff or Chelsea / Leeds but the vast majority of rivalries from what I can tell are local and centre around bragging rights.

So with regards to Luton they can't be a major rival of ours as only a minority of our support have any ill feeling towards them

                    • i think 'local rivals' dont have to be explained as its purely geography.......i think luton town would best be described as 'bitter rivalry' due to the undoubted dislike between a very large proportion of both clubs supporters toward one an other!
                      you know nothing john snow!!!!

It's not a large proportion it's a small proportion of our support, being surrounded by like minded supporters does not count. It's like saying a large proportion of our support are football hooligans, it just isn't true!

It's not a bitter rivalry, some of our fans and their fans maybe bitter towards each other but that means **** all to the majority of us

"Some rangers dads" - doesn't that kind of prove W12's point Facto?

                            • Chelsea for me are massive rivals. To say Luton are rivals is a view that should be stuck in the past. They play football in a pub league these days so I think they become irrelevant!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

well yes stanley but these dads were ...i hate the term 'scarfers' as they were in qpr tops and they just were not having stone island clad oiks venting disatasteful language and gesticulation in their direction.....the luton chaps ended up with blooded noses!
