We don't start with Bobby Zamora on Tuesday.

I was delighted with his contribution yesterday. He made a big difference when he came on but will 100% not last 90 mins, we'll be lucky to get 45. If he starts & is his normal self we're back to square one him getting hammered by the fans etc.

I don't know who to play or what formation but Zamora off the bench is a weapon. Will Keane to me is as useful as a chocolate teapot so forget him I'd give Maiga a start to wear Wednesdays legs out. He can't be any worse than Keane can he ??????

    Views? Should Bobby start?

I just said in another thread that i reckon bobby will play like a.j has most of the season, second half only. Agree with maiga to start the first 45 though, even though he wont score he will keep them busy and hopefully we could nick the winner in the second half.

That's what I'm thinking. Don't want to slate Keane but Jesus he's poor. How many times offside yesterday? Ridiculous.

Looks awful everytime i see him, touch positioning and reading of the game is all shite. Dont think he can play the lone striker role whatsoever, might be better in a two. Doubt it though to be honest. But hes from Man U youth, so hes got be good hasnt he?

Man Utd don't let promising youngsters go out on loan at that age.

Look at the crap we've had off them down the years. Don't think we've had one decent one.

Not since Gary Micklewhite...... Before that Don Givens. Not sure why folk say BZ can't last 90 mins. I certainly wouldn't play Keane. In fact I'd have him back in Manchester tmw....

Let Bobby start, score, then be subbed at half-time to keep him fresh for Saturday

Agree Keane is poor, but I do think he gets a bit more of a hard time than he deserves as he has quickly fallen into the infamous QPR scapegoat category. At Brighton there were occasions a terrible 50 yard ball was thrown into the corner flag way over Keane & their defence's heads, and the crowd would shout something like "farking hell Keane you're $hit!". Also there was the occasion yesterday where Ravel out a ball out wide to Keane who picked it up and travelled into the box then made a poor decision in not cutting it back to Joey (I think) and just lost the ball to their defender and he (quite rightly) got slated, yet Hoilett does the exact same thing 3 or 4 times after that and gets an "unlucky Junior" .

Think he has some nice touches, but he just lacks any strength whatsoever and is certainly no lone striker / target man.

On the topic of Bob, I'm inclined to agree with the OP in that he would be cream crackered after half hour IMO. Reckon he would be perfect to come on after an hour. IIRC, the Wednesday defence is like Yeovil's in that they're big old units that aren't the quickest, so would suit Bob's game.

Would personally start with AJ up top if he's fit (anybody know what's going on with him?) to give em the run around and bring Bob in with half hour or so to go.

And he kept moaning at the other players.

Ankle injury that has stumped the entire medical world. Think hes kicked his last ball to be honest.

I seem to remember a poster or 2 on here stating he is and has been fit for a while now but Redknapp's told him he find a new club?

All a bit strange. I know he's not great but I'd rather he was up top than Keane tbh.

I agree Will Keane has been awful for us so far.

Rather than just slate him though, I've borrowed a couple of paragraphs from Clive Whittingham's match preview, which just about sums up why he shouldn't be anywhere close to starting for us.

Keane was an easy scapegoat at Brighton on Tuesday night because Rangers dominated the match, and the possession, and looked a far better side than Albion going forwards and yet when the reached the penalty box they often had to shoot from long range. They lacked that presence that Austin, and Doyle to be fair, can provide. That experience, that nastiness, that determination, that needle factor that means no defender gets an easy ride even when they’re first to the ball and clearing comfortably, was missing.

Of course it was. First and foremost Keane is not a lone striker. Playing him there and yelling at the poor results is like sticking a camel into the Gold Cup and whipping it until it bleeds. Secondly, while I’ve been pulled up for calling him a “kid” given that he’s 21 and a whole clutch of players like Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Wayne Rooney, etc, ect, etc, have clocked up three figures in professional appearances by the time they get to that age, Keane is indeed a “kid” in football terms. He has so far played just ten senior matches for QPR, Man Utd and Wigan in his entire life, and you can throw in nine months spent recovering from an ACL injury last season into that equation as well.

This is the problem with the Premier League academy system. I don't know Keane's background but I suspect he's been in the Manchester United set up since he was about 10/11/12 years old. He's been playing alongside all the other outstanding boys his own age. He's been training in top notch facilities. He's been playing matches against all the other outstanding boys from all the other Premier League academies on all the other manicured training pitches. Because these Premier League teams at the top end very rarely move anybody from their academy to their first team - why pick Tom Carroll when you can spend £30m on Erik Lamela? - you just have all these kids growing old in academies never playing any actual football. On Tuesday Keane was sent out, on his own, against Matthew Upson, who whatever anybody says can still play in a dinner jacket at this level, fed poor service and then criticised for not leading the line correctly.

Given the options, I’d stick with him. Well, no, actually, I’d pick Tom Hitchcock, because even though I strongly suspect he’s nowhere near good enough, I’d rather see QPR giving their own a run so we can make informed decisions – what, exactly, are we going to base decisions about contract renewals for Michael Doughty, Max Ehmer, Michael Harriman etc on? – about them and perhaps even, wonders never cease, develop them into first team players than do all of that for Manchester United players. But, as we seem determined not to do that, and seeing as the only alternative at the moment would seem to be Mobido chuffing Maiga, and because I believe Rangers are currently suffering just as much from chopping and changing personnel and systems as they are from losing key players to injury, I’d pick Keane again, and again, and again until Doyle or Austin is fit.

Now if that doesn't demonstrate all that is wrong with our management structure, then I don't know what will.

Agree. Start Keane with support from Hoillet behind.

                              I agree with this.

Bobby, however can play on his own but as far as I'm aware ,still hasn't had the operation that he needs so would have a couple of non scoring games with hampered mobility......

And this board would turn on him again.
