Although many of us are starting to come to terms with the prospect of reaching the play offs at best, I think the season overall has been a success.
When we got relegated in May, we had players like Bosingwa who had no intention of playing for the team, just to fill his pension pot. We knew that we had to rebuild and this takes time. I think Harry and the board have done an fantastic job in ensuring that we do not end up like Wolves suffering back to back relegation. Some would say that with the team we have available, we should easily have walked this league. But we have struggled with Injuries since the turn of the year and this has hampered our chances of an immediate return to the prem.
We now have a squad that with a few new faces in the summer, want to play for the team and the crest. This is something that was missing last season. There is a buzz back around the place. Confidence is low but we know that with the fans support and 3 points today, that can change things for us. Austin and Simpson are less than a month away and should be fit enough to make the squad V Forrest. That will leave us 7 games to ensure we end up in the playoffs.
In the meantime we have 5 games in which we need a minimum of 7 points. That will prevent us from dropping out of the playoffs (providing we take a point against Wigan). We can really make a difference between now and the end of the season. SING LOUD SING PROUD and together, we can make sure that the dross we serve up on the pitch, turns into points. We are the 12th man. What ever way you look at it, our season has been a success. we are still here. We still have a chance. That is the most anyone can hope for. Now we have 12 games to turn this season into something special. Lets get Loftus Road rocking.
