Well said Ginger (your original post): as I've said elsewhere, you guys are nailed on for the playoffs, when anything can happen. For my money, Wigan will win the playoffs, but as Stanley76 says, the playoffs are a lottery. Last season, City were one dodgy penalty and a spectacular goal away from getting to the playoff finals, where I was sure that Watford would be playing Brighton. Shows how much I know.

Agree with that, Wolves for example found it very easy and Charlton seem to be proving the point again this season

We've found it very hard to get out of (well, except when we went the other way into the third tier) and with our level of support, and the money that has been chucked at the club over the past five years, that should not be the case - we think! To be honest, I haven't seen enough live matches to know much about the overall standard of football, but one thing seems to be clear is that apart from one or two teams each year (eg, City and Burnley this season, Cardiff last) there is not much to choose between top and bottom, so most matches have a potential banana skin built in. Maybe that is why it is considered to be a difficult league to get out of. Just a thought.

I'm only messing with you.....and I agree with your post except for the 'doing a Wolves' bit..........As frustrating as our team is, there was always going to be too much talent to drop straight down another league.

all the experts also said last season that we were too good to go down. wolves team should never have gone down, perhaps not good enough to go up but definitely shouldve stayed up imo. with the team spirit and confidence shot to pieces and a massive overhaul of players, i was definitely worried we would do a wolves.

Firstly, i know my view on things is probably not the popular view on here. And thats cool, because this is a forum where opinions differ and debate is ok. This is how i see things, and i hope im not ridiculed for it.
If you look at the season we had last season id say weve done very well to be where we are, without playing well at all this season (bar a handful of games). We could quite easily have done a Wolves, which doesnt bear thinking about.
We all want to be at the top of the league where, on paper, our squad should be quite easily. But I think many on here underestimated how tough a league the championship is. Either that or they were arrogant enough to think we have a god given right to win every game because we were premier league last season.
I love my club and im as p*ssed off with our lack of firepower and Harry's questionable tactics as anyone else. I just think its too late in the season to be making a managerial change, if we're gonna do it wait till the season ends. And if that means another season in the Championship then so be it. Actually, its probably better than getting d*cked week in week out in the Premier League.
Believe it or not, if this rough patch we're going through right now had happened earlier in the season, say January, I wouldve been on the "Harry out" bandwagon. But there are 12 games left, and if a new manager came in now, I reckon he would need at least half of those to implement his ideas and way of playing. It would be a period of transition right at the business end of the season, which could possibly end our playoff chances. Right now we need stability until the end of the season, because I firmly believe we have a playoff place nailed on. I dont think we will go up via the playoffs, judging by our results against teams in the top 8 this season. But it would be something to build on for next season, like Leicester have this season.
I also am not panicking about this debt we have. Im not a financial whizz or anything, but the way I see it (and I could be wide of the mark here so please correct me im wrong), the only external debt we have is a £15million bank loan. The rest of that debt was from the shareholders. On top of that, there is no guarantee this FFP will come in, with several clubs ready to take legal action against the football league to fight it. If this means I am burying my head in the sand, then I consider my head well and truly buried.
Look, I would be gutted and extremely disappointed if we dont make the playoffs. But I stand by what I said earlier, that we have done well to be where we are after the disaster that was last season.
Tony Fernandes is not going to sack Harry before the season ends, its just not going to happen. The best thing we can do is just get behind the lads for the rest of the season, because despite what many think, the fact is its not over yet. You may not agree with Harry, or indeed even like him, but lets get behind the boys on the pitch, they need us. Especially when we are involved in the playoffs. Our away support has been superb all season, lets increase the noise at home, starting saturday against yeovil.

Thanks mate, and I agree with the last bit. I think we were all expecting Redknapp to have a few tricks up his sleeve on the striker front in January, but it turned out to be a pretty disappointing window. He brought youth in but he had either not seen them play, or they have turned out to be useless. No evidence of any proper scouting done.

Good post but I am in the Brightonr camp. The championship isn't a good league and the standard has been poor. Some games this season we should of been 4 nil down but for **** poor finishing. The main problem is the shear amount of fixtures. It has become a real slog and 1 that the players don't seem up for. I really am starting to fall out of love with the game and harry redknapp is too blame for bringing in past it pkayers and not solving a clear striker crisis. It's a tough call but I would sack him if the manager they want is available now because it gives him time to assess the squad and decide the changes. I think we need a new manager now and more importantly another season in this division allbeit I am desperate for premier league football

No seriously, agree with all of that. Support again last night was superb! Think they said over the tannoy that there were 1,900 odd Rangers there last night of the 28k crowd. Lovely stadium and one I'd love us to have in a few year.
