It is exactly how we used to do it and successfully.....the one thing I would change though is the constant selling of our best players

eh? when do we sell our best players? other than the imminent Taarabt sale I honestly think we have to go back to Lee Cook for the last time we sold a player we'd actually like to have kept, and Crouch before him. Could well be missing someone obvious though. But really we're not a club that sells our best players because we haven't had anyone coveted by top clubs in years...

                  Great article this, btw

"7) Never again let QPR be the club to pay the highest wages or the biggest transfer fees as this always ends in tears. Please see every example when this has happened before and realise it only ever ends badly: Sheron, Spencer, Hately and almost every signing in the last two seasons. It breads a mercenary culture and creates no long-term stability or structure."

                  DING DING DING

The muppets on here screaming for us to sign Rhodes, Defoe, Anelka, Fat Ronaldo and co really could do with reading this passage a few times.

Whether we go up or stay where we are there will be a lot of new players who will have to come in.
It will be a busy summer no matter what.
Even if we go up, I would like us not to throw everything we have in transfer funds in order to stay up.
Norwich survived so far, without big names.
I just think no matter what happens, we need to go out on a spend with an eye for a future squad, and not a quick fix!!

yeah fair enough I posted that before fully reading the article

I don't think your position is very consistent though. unless you're either a top champions league club or reliant on a rich sugar daddy, you *have* to sell your best players.

Every club is a selling club. Some more than others.

fans say that's sensible not to spend big but just imagine next summer if tony keeps his wallet in his ****** pocket - this board will be in meltdown!
