Not saying I would give him a new deal but in my view him and Barton are the best to CM pairing we have

He takes some stick but watch him closely next time he gets on the ball and carries the balls forward and actually tries to play positive forward passes. Yes sometimes the passes don't come off but that the difference between someone like him and Carroll. Carroll would rather play the easy ball that gets us no where whereas Jenas, possibly because he is more experienced, tries the forward pass which could make a difference.

Hes not a world beater but he is a better player then some are given him credit for and him and Barton in the middle in my view will be vital until the end of the season

With all the debt talk, we will have to cut our cloth accordingly. Apart from Dunne, there won't be too many players offered new contracts imo.

Would argue some will get offered new contracts but it will be on new terms so question is will they accept it if offered on drastically reduced wages more akin to what there actually worth paying now

Most of those we have that are out of contract stand no chance of landing similar deals with other teams. Who in their right mind is gonna pay , say for example, Zamora 50-60k a week.

There are one or two i hope the club try to retain on reduced terms but no more beyond that.

Agree. Have to eat some humble pie as I've slated him in the past but I think he's played really well recently, had a great game yesterday & I thnik he brings more to the table than Carroll & Henry.

That's as I see it Matty hence why from now until the end of the season him and Barton would be my middle two. Actually thought him Barton and Ravel worked fantastically well together between the three of them they played in triangles almost moving around the pitch in a threesome

I think there is a place for Henry depending on the game or the state of the game (Carroll I would not let near the 1st team unless were really struggling with injuries)

As said previous Jenas misses some passes as he did against Leeds but that's because he's trying to play a positive pass behind or to open the opposition up. We have had rows and rows on here about passing for the sake of passing and going nowhere, sideways and backwards where as Jenas picks his head up and tries to play it forwards and people then knock him for giving it away. When it comes off like yesterday, where he was my MOM, its great; when the passes come short like Leeds hes considered s hit truth is somewhere in the middle

He also gets in the box from the middle and scored yesterday (I thought the offside looked harsh) and if you take his name out the equation he actually does what we have been crying out for 1) gets on ball and carries it forward 2) passes forwards 3) gets in the box and finally 4) does put tackles in

Bang on the money mate. Was saying to me old man how I like the way he pushes into their box and is on hand for any rebounds or parrying saves from their keeper. Don't get me wrong he'snot our saviour and isn't the best player in the world, but he's certainly doing a good job in there and exactly as you say, that middle 3 worked fantastically well.

Really looking forward to Brighton now after that performance.
