    Academy

Watching the Southampton, Liverpool game earlier, the commentator mentioned that 10 academy players had turned out for the saints this season. Now i understand that it could include the league and FA cups but that is some going.

We really do need to get ours sorted and soon, or find a manager that can look beyond the current season. I really feel we are going backwards year after year, with our team being propped up by old sloggers and has beens, whilst we loan out anyone with half a chance of making it.
"I could think of a number of what I think would be interesting (and not even "gotcha") questions. But they wont be asked"

It was a sad, sad, day when we closed our Academy and we will continue to pay for it for a few more years yet.

H was slagged off just this week for giving trial to a Spurs youngster that has played every level for them
if he's not good enough for Spurs he's not good enough for us , oh really !
the young Jock c/ h is seen as one for future isn't he ? This suggests to me we looking to develope players

I talked about developing our young players in my thread "think outside the box". Some short sighted people say our youngsters aren't good enough.

What makes you think it's being short sighted , if they are good enough they are old enough think inside the box they know more about our young players than you and I do , we have'nt had reasonable youth policy for years Langley was the last home produced player of note to make the step up, these things take time to develope what a lovely world it would be if we could find instant youth players

Yes it takes time but at least one of the following players should have been with the team: Surtherland, Shariff, Herriman, Ehmar and Hitchcock.

Emher has been included and played Southerland is said to be a bit one paced , the othes as I've already said haven't pull any tree's up at a lower level , this could be why H is looking to bring young players in from other club's ie the young jock and the Spurs trialist

Think dsqpr was refering to when we done away the academy last time Kev !
anyone that joined the acad at that time might have made it now , also no academy was the reason given for Raheem Sterling leaving if you believe it
