If I was a betting man I'd say it was because Tony was busy reviewing his options. Despite his many mistakes he probably realises the next appointment needs to be right and he is unlikely to sack a media darling with a big reputation such as Harry until he has someone else lined up. But that's just my take, not based on any inside info.

Costs a lot of £££ to put a talented young hungry team together.

Started well with the likes of Simpson, Phillips and Austin though.

I read either on this thread or another that it will be in every paper tomorrow i.e HR leaving.

And from this morning of just the Times reporting it, there are now like another 22 sources relating to the same story...

Well it depends really, initially it costs a lot to build a young team in transfer fees but the younger players dont command as much in wages. Dont even want to speculate how much players like benayoun, kranjcar, jenas, BAE etc are on.

We will be paying all of Kranjcar and BaE's wages

Agree with you there - that is the massive contradiction. Everything Tony does off the pitch is brilliant and long term - the training centre, stadium plans etc - but everything on the pitch is short-term. If he was really trying to do a baby Man City he needed to buy a handful of players that other clubs actually wanted. Even Austin we only got because he had a dodgy medical. Most players we get are last knockings. Its purely my hunch but is TF a bit too nice? There were loads of reports saying that TF didn't want Benayoun because Tony thought he was too old. But as normal the manager got his way. He alone is probably on 20/30 grand a week. OK Naki Wells would have cost £1.5m to buy but he prob would have been delighted with 7/8 grand a week. Over a two year contract who works out more expensive? Especially when you factor in that hardly any of our players have a sell-on value.

Should set up a training school in Ethiopia then!

More than likely, would estimate 70k minimum for both combined on their original contract

Absolutely. Normal service will resume very shortly i reckon. We will never go below the play off places or i will eat petes drum.

TF did probably put his faith in HR´s man management regardless...
