I am genuinely surprised you think the modern day footballer would play in a lower league when they have better options in a higher one

If Pep had arrived pre season and we had gone for the two players I would have expect them to still be playing for the teams they do as premier league football trumps everything else in a players minds
Good management in my view is making them stay, but letting them think they made the choice.

Your last paragraph sums up exactly what is wrong with football nowadays, doesn't it? And the sooner that attitude is stamped out of the game forever, then the sooner the game will improve.

So many players are happy to be part of a Premiership club and not playing football regularly. Rather than great memories, their retirement will consist of counting their money. Those that are bright enough to keep it.

Bang on the money in this response modern day football has been poisoned don't think we will see very often going forward players like Matt Le Tis who turned down better options because they were content where they were

He's beyond your reach already Al

Alan Pardew admits Loic Remy's form could push his value beyond Newcastle's reach

LOIC REMY'S good season continued when scored a dramatic last-gasp winner against Aston Villa at St James' Park.

GOAL MACHINE: Remy scored his 12th goal of the season against Aston Villa [GETTY]

But if he keeps playing well the Toon fear they will miss out on signing him permanently as his value continues to rise with every goal.

Remy is on a season-long loan from Championship side QPR and should the London club fail to get promoted back to the Premier League the Frenchman will want out - permanently.

“He is going to be hot property”
        Alan Pardew

R's boss Harry Redknapp said in January that he could't understand why Newcastle hadn't made an offer as Remy's price would continue to rise.

And he's been proven right as Pardew admitted.

Pardew said: "He is going to be hot property. He is going to get a lot of press tomorrow and I am going to leave him out of the next 11 (games)!

Remy's last-gasp intervention came in the nick of time as he smashed home from close range in the second minute of added time at the end of the game after substitute Luuk de Jong's cross had been deflected into his path.

That would have come as a huge relief to him as well as well as his manager after he had hit the post with the goal at his mercy two minutes earlier

I will be amazed if Arsenal do not come in for him, similar style to Henry, and would be a hero there. Way to good for us, and Newcastle.

Remy's loan deal is understandable and probably little Harry could have done. That transfer window of Remy and Samba was just fire fighting to keep us up, soon as we went down Samba returns and Remy is loaned out, does appear contractual as it wasn't messy or prolonged. Shame Cesar wasn't dealt with in a similar manner probably didn't have such a clause with him.
Remember when he signed Harry said it was a stepping stone into the premiership for Remy and that is what it appears to be.
If we had stayed up Remy may of stayed for another year with us before moving on.

What about our luck ? weve been lucky to be playing a whole season of p iss poor football and grinding out results and still being in with a shout of the play offs . Weve been unlucky with Austins injury , but that is all ,its not been bad luck that Redknapp has failled to strengthen our attack or that since he`s taken over we have played some of the worst football ive seen at Rangers in over 30 years

Remy situation nothing to with Redknapp Remy wanted to go on loan to a prem team because it's a world cup year and want to be in the France squad which he wouldn't have been playing in the Championship, and is now worth at least £20+ when you think of A.Carroll, Soldado.Giroud, and many others , he's proven himself at he top level,

Still harrys fault to watrb posters. A good manager would of convinced him to stay and that the championship is better than playing in the world cup. Also should of told adel yeovil, away is better than champions league. Blokes useless at man management.

People say that about taarabt right left and centre. But the difference is Taarabt WANTS to play for Milan, which is why hes putting in 100%. Not once did he do that for us after we got promoted. And if he came back (hopefully not) theres no way he would be arsed.
