  • on the flip side of sacking HR

How many of the people who were asking for Harry to be our next manager are now calling for him to be sacked?? I ask this simply because IF we was to get a new manager how long would you give him... half a season? ... less?
What if we got a new manager and we were averaging at mid table and not playing particularly well, then what, another new manager?

If we bring a new manager in and it all works out, we develop our young players, we start playing more positive attacking football and we start winning, great bring it on... But what if it doesn't go to plan... just a thought.
    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

2-3 years to build a team from the bottom upwards (unlike top-down, as HR does).

Investing and bringing through the youth and building a proper football club with a long-term vision like we used to do - with a younger, dynamic, progressive and forward thinking manager.

Call it "The 4 Year Plan (Part 2)" if you like.

Everyone has an opinion, some believed the hype around Redknapp but he has only ever been a wheeler dealer with no real evidence of tactical awareness. An example being by his own admissions he doesn't pay that much attention to the opposition. He was always a short term solution to keep/get us in the prem.

It's all about expectations, the fact is we pay big wages so could easily attract one of the best up and coming managers in Europe such as Garcia or Yakin. Need to build long term, not just the first team but a whole identity that is ingrained in the whole club from under 9 to first team so we can develop players to play that way. We also need to buy players to play that way not just buy big names in the hope it will work aka Redknapp.

That's great and would love to see that but how many on here here would 100% give their backing or patience. Everything you've listed all takes time. After 1 season of not really getting anywhere how many people are going to start getting twitchy feat and start asking questions or even enquiring out a new manager.

I think most people would accept slow and steady change if they could see gradual signs of consolidation and progress, especially if the long-term goal/vision was transparently and honestly put across to the fanbase.

I remember seeing someone holding up a big banner saying "save us harry".. would be interesting to see what they're saying now.

I honestly think HRs got at least 5 years in him, and given the chance/funds to build a decent premiership squad. Just my opinion.

Maybe that's what's happening now. given time things could change, things could improve. But not given the chance/time we'll never know and risk reliving the Flavio years of manager hopping

Who know Nick. Maybe you're right. Making a big call like deciding when is the right time to change a manager is always about individual judgment and discernment. Personally I'm fast coming to the conclusion that Harry is far from the long-term solution based on his player acquisitions, tactics and team selections since he's been at the club.

Be a big decision to sack him now, chances are if we don't get promoted he will walk. Problem comes if we do sneak promotion do you stick with him and give him money to build or bite the bullet and replace him with a younger manager. I know what I would do but it's not mind or anyone on here's decision so over to Fernandes.

Building a team to get into the premiership and building a team for staying in the premiership are two completely different things. Despite what some people think HRs no idiot and 1 thing he knows a lot about is football and the premiership. IF we can make it over the lime then IMO HR will build a strong team that will stay in the prem

Fernandes didn't want to spend in January, he's not gonna buy out Redknapp's contract.

Harry was the right guy for our situation last season, but TF waited entirely too long to sack Sparky. This year, I was expecting younger players too get a chance (Yun Suk Young and Harriman to name 2) and was expecting to offload those who didn't care about our club. Instead, we sent all our young guys out on loan, and brought in a full squad of loanees and has-beens to bring us up. We plugged the hole in our sinking ship with gum instead of properly fixing it.

Charlie Austin was a great signing. Matty Phillips is a great signing. There young, and could mesh with our Academy players. But then there were questionable signings. When Danny Simpson went down, Harry brought in Aaron Hughes, a 34 year old out of favor defender who can play the entire backfield. So, instead of letting someone like Michael Harriman get a chance to have a half season under is belt, we are letting an out of favor retiree get caps.

You can make arguments for almost every one of Harry's loan signings, BAE is good one week, **** poor the next. Will Keane is the same age as Tom Hitchcock FFS, so why didn't we just recall one of our own? Questions like this need to be answered by not only Harry, but Phil Beard as well. Phil's let Sparky play FIFA Ultimate Team in real life, and now let Harry does this :(

Does anyone else feel this way?
Tom Hitchcock's goal total in 10 games-5 Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora's goal Totals since joining the club (47 games)- 8. Tom Hitchcock's Age-21 Will Keane's Age-21. Will Keane's goal total in 7 games-0. WHY ISNT TOM HITCHCOCK PLAYING FOR US

You need help. It would be like giving an iffy used car salesman the keys to the mint.
