Must say last few games he has looked a different player. I have been a critic of him but he seems to have found a new positivity and confidence in his game its like hes had the shackles taken off

Bombed forward tonight more then he has done in the whole of the season put together. He was not perfect and missed a few passes but was good to see him trying to pass the ball forward and thread passes. If he keeps that up no complaints from me

Agree - arguably did more than Morrison tonight.

Improved massively in the last two games in a more advanced role.

Sorry gents I must be watching a different game thought he was awful I've never seen a player give the ball away a much in a game, at one time had 10 yards of space to go forward near the opposition box then turned and went backwards sorry I thought he was abysmal and so did many around me?

Hmmmm. But he really hasn't a f acking clue what to do when in the final third or in the box. Thought him very, very poor tonight to be honest. Offered nothing again in my opinion.

Eh? Played well tonight, better than Ravel. The double standards in the stadium tonight was embarrassing. Carroll tried a turn & lost the ball in their box and the stadium got right on his back, 5 mins later Ravel tried to take on 2 men nearer the halfway line, lost it & nearly cost us a goal (Clint's last ditch tackle saved us) and nobody said a word.

He was far from perfect tonight, a few stray passes, but no more than anybody else. In fact, he made more successful passes than anybody else IMO. Proper scapegoat.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Successful passes sure. Telling passes? Few and far between. Morrison was carrying a injury, but even then he knew where the goal was. Carroll gives every indication of not even seeing the goal. Fella creates nothing useful other than keep possession.

would be interesting if those who wish carroll wasn't in the team to say who they would put in his place,my opinion of him is he has ability and puts in a shift every game he is however quite young and will inevitably make mistakes.he also through his workrate allows players like krancjar and Morrison the option to not nave to race back all the time.at rangers if we make 5 passes sideways or backwards while keeping possession the crowd get uneasy and start screaming for us to get it forward and if we lump it up they are asking why we don't pass it.some want us to play like Swansea while others like stoke,at least carroll tries to keep it and find a teammate, sure if he had some pacey forwards he would go forward more,

This. He was pony. It's like playing with a man missing from the team. Get rid back to spuds asap.

Interesting points, Rainham. If a critic of his, I want him to do well for us. And for himself. He seems a decent lad. And, as I've said before, he always shows for the ball. He never hides. But everything you say relates to his defensive duties. And how he plays in our own half. He presently brings nothing to the table offensively in the final third. He rarely plays a telling forward pass. And tonight, when he got in the box, he froze everytime. And invariably lost the ball. A shame. Maybe it's a confidence thing? I suspect, however, it's how he's been taught to play his game. It will, I fear, be the unmaking of him. Each of Wigan's midfielders played better than him tonight.

amazing, utterly amazing. Nobody was macaroni out there tonight, and carroll played very well. Get off his back please. He dont socre or do tricks like ravel, but he allows niko and bennyoon who have a combined age of 198 the space to do what they do without the other team coming into our half in waves..

He done ok. Put in a decent shift but lots of stray passes again & nearly cost us a goal after losing the ball stupidly in the second half. Looks better than previously but still not that good for me.
