That is a worry. The one thing we could be fairly certain of up until recently was a mean defence.
My first assumption was that because we are toothless up front, the defence have to work that bit harder as the ball isn't up the other end for very long. When that's the case lapses in concentration are more likely and after a few goals have been conceded, in an otherwise solid defence, confidence starts to dip.
The thing is we haven't actually been battered week in week out. In a lot of games we've had plenty of possession and the defence haven't exactly had to face wave upon wave of attacks so its not as clear cut.
Strangely a similar thing seemed to happen under warnock in our promo season but at that point in time conceding the odd goal in a game wasn't the be all.
In the games we looked rock solid we played 5 in midfield.. The games we have looked weaker at the back we have played 4... It's the real difference... It also answers boring unattractive 1-0s...
