After our last 2 games and our generally awful record against the top 6 I must admit I'm more worried than I was previously about gaining auto promotion (not to mention no Austin or Phillips).

I did a quick calculation and taking out the rest of the top 6 we have gained 51 points in 22 games against the rest of the division. Carry on with that average and even if we lose against Forest and Leicester we would have about 88 points. Could be enough to go up.

As said before I know this is without Austin, Phillips, etc but just thought I would have a look if we did carry on the same as before against the rest of the division.

Very good post mate, and much more realistic than all the other threads we have had recently. Losing Austin is a massive blow, and has really hurt us, but we can beat the lower teams with our squad and carry on as we were before, which will one hundred percent get us play offs, and with a big slice of luck automatic.

I think Harry is gambling on Morrison to make the difference.

I am not giving up hope yet for automatic promotion. There are a lot of winnable games the rest of the way and we have home games against Forest and Wigan. There is no reason why the team can stop to rot on Saturday and get on a run. I do feel the same exact way and that is why I have been a little more positive since looking over the remaining games. Good post!

Good point of view and we are still in the mix , nobody said it would be easy !! If we win at charlton we are set up nicely for a good run through March , could do with some luck though as we ain't had much lately .

and if he doesn't work, we can always sign someone else.

The result at Charlton isn't the be-all-and-end-all, our only games left against teams in the top ten are Leicester and Forest right near the end. We will definitely pick up our form at some point between then.

HARRY OUT, SACK THE BOARD!!!!!..... sorry mate I couldn't resist

I still think we'll make the automatics, especially with our games to come. Even without Austin.... Don't forget we've just signed a striker who's got 2 in 3 and we've just bought in a player who could make all the difference that is Morrison.
                        SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

Sorry Nick.. No chance we will make the Autos now. If we lose Saturday and the other teams around us win, what then? :/

It doesn't bode well, when you your manager comes out at this crucial part of the season and says,
'im going to have to start again and find a way of playing so that we start winning games again'

His basically said, I aint got a fooking Scooby

Well Harry's just stating the obvious. The only why we're going to make those auto's is if we start winning and changing things around.. I would say bringing Morrison in is the first step in doing that and IMO a very good one.

Yea brilliant, another loan from HR.. Do you honestly think we will still make autos after our performances since losing Austin?
You don't think HR has to take responsibility? All the loans, even more players in again. With the same thing to happen come end of the season...
