  • Even if we do go up...

These lot are returning to their parent clubs:
    Assou-Ekotto
    Tom Carroll
    Niko Kranjcar
    Kevin Doyle
    Will Keane
    Modibo Maiga
    Dellatore

These lot are too old/past it for the Prem:
    Hill
    Dunne
    Hughes
    Zamora
    AJ
    SWP
    Henry
    Jenas
    O'Neil
    Young

These three will probably be bought permanently by other clubs:
    Remy
    Taarabt
    Cesar

    Out of contract this summer:
    Benayoun
    Green
    Traore
    Park
    Mbia
    Ephraim

    Who are we left with?
    Murphy
    Simpson, Onuoha, Ehmer, Donaldson, Yun
Barton, Faurlin, Diakite, Granero, Hoilett, Phillips
    Austin, Hitchcock, Shariff

There's no core to build around and we don't have many young players in the squad. Straight back down? Unless we spend big in the summer..again!

IMO, I would prefer us staying in the championship for a few seasons to build a younger side and bring in a manager with long term plans.

Cheers just updated it, looks even more worrying now.

Can't disagree with that, definitely prepared to sit in mid-table until we build a side more capable of staying in the Premier League (providing we can actually get there in the first place!).

Green needs to be offered a new deal now though.
Still a few years left in him and deserves a new contract.
Derry said earlier his confidence was hit hard when Hughes brought in Cesar when Green thought he would be number one.
But he carried on and turned up every day for training putting in the effort.

Think we have blown our chance this season and will be down for 4 or 5 more years at least.

                    Haha just editted.

If we carry on with this short-term, big summer spending phliosophy I see us becoming a yo-yo side like how West brom were.

The way I've seen it is that Warnock wasn't trusted with a big pot of spending power, so they got shot of him and brought in the suit, Mark Hughes, who diligently spent every single penny his cronies convinced Tony to trust him with.

When that went t i t s up, Arry was left with a budget of 26p.

I think he's done well on that, all things considered.

It wasn't just Hughes though as along came that Kia fool and Mike Rigg.
Fernandes had no experience in running a football club but basically put his trust in a manager at the time with premiership experience, a top agent who would bring in the names from Riggs database that was apparently thought of highly.

Getting trustworthy people around you when you've got millions of quids to spare ain't easy.

                              Not as I'd know!!
