  • 'Arry is just so frustrating

I've never been an 'Arry fan. Lots of media soundbites but a very average Premiership manager. I was however happy that a club of our size could attract an average Premiership manager.

For me he has been a disappointment overall. Only real plus was the big clearout in the summer which he must have had some partial influence on.

His team selections a lot of the time don't make sense. He refuses to involve youngsters at all even though we keep hearing how promising our development squad is. The point of having youngsters is they get given a chance when you have injuries etc. At QPR I do somethimes wonder what the point would be in being in our development squad aside from maybe being given a chance to sign on loan for someone else and maybe get a permanent deal elsewhere.

When I saw last night's selection I just thought 'not again.' Looking at it as from the opposition perspective we had an elderly, slow defence, no pace or balance in midfield. No fluidity. Where on earth were we going to create the chances from? We had nil written all over us from the first minute. He just keeps playing these stupid unbalanced sides that just scream off 'if we can keep the other side from scoring we might nick something.' To be fair that has worked fairly often but I suspect we have had luck on our side and to rely on luck is a dangerous tactic. Earlier in the season we were having more possession in games and it was more inclined to work in our favour. Not quite the same now.

Now if we had a crap squad I could almost understand it. However, even allowing for injuries, we had pace on the bench in Hoillet (who yes did come on) and Traore. I know the former is frustrating but you need to give the opposition something to worry about. We should be better than to have to rely every game on trying to scrape something. Derby have had a wobble of late and should have been for the taking.

And while I'm at it what is happening with our coaching and man management? Using Hoillet as an example when he used to play against us and others his shooting could be a bit wayward but he caused havoc and looked fantastic overall. I was delighted when he signed but he has gone backwards! He should be destroying fullbacks in this division every game. In fact what players have we managed to significantly develop?

Probably reads as frustration at last night's result but how I have felt for much of the season. As others have said we are probably in a false position. It doesn't need to be false. We have the squad to maintain but not the way it is being used at the moment.

A message for the jowly one - show some bravery in your selections and go for it. We have the players to batter a lot of the teams in this division. Lets have some fun and show some swagger.
