  • Joey: "We're going to need the fans probably more than they understand"

A few quotes from his QPR Player interview today:

"They don't realise how key they are...the atmosphere from the fans was incredible in the PL and was what got us through against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal.

I really enjoy playing here now....we're going to need each other. We're going need them more than they can probably understand between now and May.

...Loftus Road is turning into one of my favourite stadiums to play football."

He's right n all; you can see the improvement in urgency & performance on the pitch when the atmosphere gets going.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think that was recorded after the Burnley game where the atmosphere was much improved. So he's indirectly saying we need that to continue for the rest of the season.

Agree with you there mate. To be honest he wasn't really my cup of tea until this season. He's taken the stick that's been thrown at him for playing in the championship on the chin and he's knuckled down and proven he's a massive part of the team and like you said we're certainly weaker without him.

Burnley was a big game of course which generates more atmosphere by itself but also the style of play was more direct which gets the blood pumping too.
The wingers stayed wider, Doyle acted as a sort of target man, the ball didn't only to move gradually from front to back, now there were options and sometimes it just went long.
If the team can find a balance between that more direct style and the more tippy-tappy stuff of earlier in the season I think that will be very difficult for opponents to handle and crank up the atmosphere too.
