  • QPR Ultras?

(Just want to point out that 'Ultras' as a term is absolutely crap and should have stayed with the lovely clubs in Europe)

Was speaking with a CPFC fan at work today and he was saying that before the 'Ultras' started their band of brothers to cheer on the boys, Selhurst was like a morgue at times.
Got me thinking though, I often feel the same when i'm at games at W12, lack of atmosphere totally at times, often chants that happen every 10 minutes or even none at all when the team are down or struggling.

I look back to that magical night against Oldham at home and the place was absolutely jumping, best atmosphere at any game i ever went to. I'm sure it gave the players a huge lift. My point being that is this really a bad idea and maybe our fans should think about doing something similar!? Not with the ridiculous flag waving european-ness of it but we definitely need a kick up the **** at home to bump up the atmosphere for the whole 90 minutes rather than just after we score etc.

    Thoughts?

To be fair to those lads, they have done palace proud this season.

I know quite a few palace fans (not ultras) so I hear a bit about them. Funniest for me was "you're not special any more" at Chelsea to José.

How about a chant app. It would synchronize with everyone else's and have a countdown and would chose the chant so everyone sang the same one. A bit out there I admit but could work. ;)

Is it an ego thing with some? That they wanna portray some sort of image so don't bother singing or are worried about what others around them think?

Would be fantastic to ser the entire loft in full voice for entire games.

If they ever allow safe standing then the lower loft could become a bear pit once more.

I would rathe sit in silence, then have a block of spotty little bell ends dressed in black thinking they are Napoli. Don't get me wrong they do get the atmosphere going but they aren't my cup of tea. Embarrassing

Yeah, im not saying the palace/ultra model would be the one to follow but there is such a lack of atmosphere at most grounds in this country now. Its a shame because when Loftus road is rocking it is seriously rocking and i reckon if you asked any footballer that had played there when it was like that they would say it was an intimidating place to be.

well what get embarrassing is qpr get a corner say a the loft end, most start the typical "come on you r's" and r block? start "we are the rangers boys" or "one...so and so" so 2 songs go against each other and it fades out.
it has always been when qpr get a corner , free kick it's a "come on you r's" ! there's your starter for 10.

When we were in Div 2 the atmosphere was better though, recently over the past 2/3 years us fans have let it slip.. That's just the truth!
