No desire, slow, weak, not even all that skillful imho - struggling to think of one really memorable pass or set piece. If he hadn't have come from Real Madrid not sure he would have been indulged as long as he was. What annoyed me is he never seemed to understand that in a struggling team in the Prem you really have to graft, he wafted around like he was on Strictly.

He got injured in mid September and is out for at least 6 months. He has a four year contract with the Club beginning 2012, so he will either come back or go on loan somewhere else at the end of the season.
