  • Esteban Granero

One of our players out on loan, currently injured.

There is a thread on out of contract players but what about this one who technically could be coming back to us at the end of the season with still two years left on his contract? Would we want to keep him regardless of division or just get rid?

I think he actually started quite well for us, came across well as an individual off the pitch and then drowned in the general crapness and shambles of last season. He seemed to have a good range of passing at times and mainly struggled with the intensity and speed of the English game. With the right players around him could be decent.

I don't have any particularly strong views either way but would not be totally averse to giving him another chance if it came to it.

Meh . Not really bothered about him to be honest , thought he was very lightweight and I was generally underwhelmed by him . Personally think we need a clean break from the Hughes signings so based on that id get rid

He wasn't worth £8m, and certainly didn't play like one.

Granero is probably one of the strangest and expensive signings we ever made and is on par with Ned Zelic.

      Tony was ripped off badly.

He was good until he got his hair cut.

I quite liked him. If he was in a team that was all about keeping the ball think he would flourish

Still remember that game away against Spurs where he and Faurlin bossed around the Spurs midfield.
Thought that partnership looked the real deal then, had eye for each other work and was a real joy to watch, sadly an own goal from Faurlin and sloppy dispossession from Granero resulted in the 2-1 defeat.
Allerdyce or his scouts in our next game versus WHU had spotted that performance rightly so, he reacted with three bullies in the midfield with Nolan, Diame and some other guy breaking down that partnership.
Sadly, after that game, it was never tested anymore by Hughes or Redknapp later.
            From Holland with love

Not one to defend Hughes, but Redknapp was in charge for both games. And made a mess of them too.
