Last seasons table after 28 games. Cardiff had a 10 point lead over Leicester. The team in 2nd place at this stage last season failed to go up automatically and lost in the playoffs.
We have lost less games than the whole of the top 6 last season, and have more points than all last seasons top 6 except Cardiff.
Points per game at this stage read as follows..Cardiff, 2.14..Leic,1.79..Hull,1.79...This season Leic,2.28..QPR, 2.00..Burn, 1.89.
We have kept 14 clean sheets the best so far but have failed to score on 7 occasions, the worst in the top 6.
The team in 4th place ( currently Derby) won the playoffs. The current teams occupying the top 5 positions all stayed in them, albeit not exactly where they are now, and the team in 6th
dropped out for the team in 7th.
What does this tell us ?...F***all really but we are 6 points better off than 2nd and 3rd last year, and team 2nd f***ed it up.

The year before that the team in 2nd spot at this stage finished in that position. The team in 8th roared through and won the title. The team in 1st after 28 games dropped to 3rd and won the playoffs.
If we had been in this division that year our 56 points would've put us 3 pts clear at the top.Again our 14 clean sheets this season far out weighs anything at this stage that season.
Points per game for the top 3 West Ham, 1.89..Southampton, 1.82..cardiff 1.79.

    Year before that?
Top 3 were QPR, Forest, Norwich. We had the same points as we have now.The team in 2nd again missed out.We had 15 clean sheets that season so far. Points per game was QPR, 1.89..
Forest 1.77,..Cardiff 1.74. We are 3 pts better off than that season, and have won more games. This time that season we had lost 3 games ...this season we have lost 4.
Again the top 5 all stayed in these in the top 5 but 6th placed Leeds dropped out and 7th place Reading got the other spot

          last 9 seasons 3rd place team has had 85, 81, 84, 75, 80, 79, 80, 86, 77 points

QPR currently on 56 points from 28 games, average 2 points per game on target for 92 points which most likely gets a top 2 place.

Conclusion - its in the bag and nothing can go wrong now !!!

No, but good comparisons would help us to estimate that with high probability. I know nothing is certain until Richard declares when we are mathematically promoted.

the possibilty that the probabillity becomes possibly promotion probably promotes possibilty

I spose if we can continue with 2 points per game till the season ends then 92 points would be the most any team has got in the last 10 years and should ensure automatic promotion
