I can take the insults about us buying success because it is basically true, calling us plastic fans though is laughableI must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

And it's not just long-term injuries to our over 30s but younger and key players too like Simpson and now Phillips in all likelihood. Had that happened to Trippier and either of Ings or Vokes they simply wouldn't have coped. Luck isn't the full story but it certainly always plays a part.

it's Ings that gets them ticking and who has given Vokes a new lease of life.

Lots of clubs have lost key players for very extended periods - look at Man Utd - but when you have one able striker at the club I don't think QPR can have too many complaints when they are suddenly scrabbling around on deadline day without any money looking for any old cast off - which is basically what we were reduced to, as Harry had the honesty to pretty well admit. As a poster pointed out the other day, Charlie had been over-worked holding the line on his own in the Championship (where you have a lot of mid-week games, and without the luxury of squad rotation). I'm no doctor but I imagine his body was under considerable strain and that may have made him more susceptible to injuries. Posters on here had been warning about the dangers for months but the club did nothing. Admittedly the board probably felt they had already frittered away enough money - but again, that is not bad luck, that is bad management.
I think we can all accept that at his age Harry isn't the long-term manager for us and TF only went for him in the desperate hope that he could keep us up last season, but it was always touch and go in the summer whether he'd stay on or not. I imagine TF knows this full well too considering how much he speaks about wanting to build long-term and stable foundations for the club.

We have an entirely new strike force which even Harry admits he doesn't have a clue how it will work. The rest of the team that is still with us has scored about 10 goals between them all season. Think some fans are incredibly complacent about the predicament we are in given the players now available. And before you say it yes I do realise we are second, but that is largely living on past glories and Charlie's goals.
