Let me be clear think both Dunne and Hill have been quality this year but they have their faults, particularly their lack of pace. So many on here complain about our lack of goals but fail to reason a part of that is the fact we play so deep to accommodate their lack of pace. This stretches the game and makes it difficult for us to get players in support of our forwards.
Playing 4-4-2 doesn't help as they need the cover in front of them to stop players running at them. Wrong selection today needed Ned in the middle and Hughes at full back but Harry has a habit of being very loyal to certain players.

It's true that both Hill and Dunne are slow, and as a result, QPR defend deeper than a lot of teams, and had those two been quicker, the midfield would be nearer to the forwards to provide more help in attack.
Although to blame them is in my opinion wrong.
QPR got done by 2 decent goals created by two wide players who are able to deliver good quick crosses. The 3rd was a complete mess up by BAE.

Problem is when we hold a high line our lack of pace is very evident, and Burnley exposed that in the second half, both Dunne and Hill prefer to sit deeper . But there front two were very good linking together, bets pair in this division by a way, having come up through the ranks they know each others game very well

The comment about hill and dunne not being able to read the game is laughable as that's their main asset. When you are getting older and losing pace you can still cut it at the top level if can read the game like hill and dunne hence why we have kept a truckload of clean sheets."The World is Yours"

The second is they struggle against any sort of movement, with Dunne at fault for the first two goals today.
Would also have too question Green for both the first two goals and now Cesar is staying big decision for Harry as Cesar is by far the better keeper and will almost certainly be here next year where as Green will be out of contract.
3 great photo opportunity saves then make 4 howlers, and alot of posters on here then say "good job we had him today it could've been 7". imoLast edited by QPRDave; 03-02-2014, 06:43 PM.

Agree it's all about opinions and for me Dunne was more the problem Saturday than green. However green us not the keeper some on here think and some have very short memories as there were several occasions last year when he was beaten from distance when he moved his feet too slowly and that's so big fault for a keeper.
Cesar is by far the better keeper, albeit far from perfect. The bigger fact is Green will not have his contract extended next year, certainly not on 50k a week. If, and it's still a big if, Cesar stays this year Redknapp has decision to make as if he doesn't leave in World Cup year he will certainly see his contract out so will almost certainly be our first choice next year, whatever division we are in.

Whilst it is all about opinions you cannot simply say Cesar is better as it is subjective.
In fact, Rob Green is a better goalkeeper than Cesar for the English Championship due to various factors such as his kicking ability is greater, he copes with crosses far better and parry's the ball towards the sidelines rather down with soft hands. We can all argue over their individual talent and ability, compare their faults and decide who is the better 'keeper in terms of, say, playing International Football but it will never be a good comparison as one has to account for the strength of the teams in front of the goalie and often, the way opposition teams chose to play against said side. No one, for example, will take on Brazil tactically in the same way they would England - but hey, who cares as Green is our man and Harry will not play Cesar in front of him all the while the former is fit.
Also, suggesting he was beaten at distance various times last year because he was too slow to move his feet is just plain wrong. Cesar, Joe Hart, Lloris, Reina and every other ‘keeper gets beaten from distance because of the modern imperfect football which makes multiple changes of direction with no predictability whatsoever. This is scientific fact, as are Green’s speed of reaction via his feet and his reflexes. He is actually regarded as having particularly fast reaction times for both and I know that because I've done various courses with the people who conduct such studies.
I don't wish to do a Greg here (and I have several thousand posts on the site and have never mentioned it before) but I have a bit of history with the position (yes, at a decent level too) and also hold a current UEFA B Goalkeeper coaching license: BTW, if I had the several grand required to do the A, I still wouldn't because for some ridiculous reason, you have to possess an outfield A licence before you can do the 'keepers one, but that's a different topic all together.#standuptocancer
