  • Positives & Negatives

    Positives
    We didn't lose.
We scored 3 goals without Charlie and 2 new strikers both off the mark on their debuts.
Doyle & Johnson look like they could form a decent partnership.
Traore looked very dangerous down the left.
Barton back & had a decent game.

    Negatives
We drew when we really should have won.
2 defensive lapses from Hoilett & BAE cost us 2 goals and another at the end from BAE could have lost us the game.
Clint was caught out a couple of times and Onuoha is not as comfortable as Simpson going forward.

On the whole a reasonably encouraging performance and we need to cut out the defensive lapses. I'd like to see Caroll in behind Doyle & Johnson and I still think we're still mostly too slow and patient going forward, allowing teams to regroup. We need to attack with more pace and dynamism on the counter.

He may have caused a few problems for them down the left but I often wonder what goes on in Traore's head, his decision making at times is baffling.

I thought we had spells where we looked like we could of taken real control of the game and then spells where we looked average at best.

People on here are having digs at Burnley but give them credit they play to their strengths and their front 2 are a proper partnership.

A good performance against a really good team. Bodes well for us. Hopefully back to our winning ways next few games.

Looked like from sa road that onunha should of closed the cross down for their 2nd. Seemed very static and let the guy have a free cross

Good perforamnce and goals from the 2 newbies should give them a lot of confidence.

I liked Kranc in the middle with Barton, think he offers so much more than Carroll so hope to see more of that. Doyle looked good 1st half and hopefully with more fitness can do that for 90mins. Think Maiga needs to stay central, not really a ball player to be running into the channels like Doyle, but he showed pace, heading ability and power that can be harnessed.

All in all more positives than negatives today

Centre midfield pairing didn't work. That's were we were undone and outplayed by Burnley. I though that Niko's most productive game for us, but he ought play out on the left or in the hole with one up front. Burnley are a good side. Stronger than us, I think. I'm glad we stole a point off them.

Don't agree with this at all, 100% disagree but respect ur opinion and isn't it funny how people seem the game completely differently?

The biggest worry, post Austin, was scoring goals and that side of it went well today with both new strikers hitting the ground running and Doyle looks to have that physical presence which gives the team a different dimension. Gonna miss Charlie but trying to fill his boots has at least got off to a good start.

Some wide problems today but cant see them being an ongoing problem - just an unfortunate combo of circumstances.

Didn't think Barton got hold of the midfield but today was more about getting plenty of service to the front men - you don't want to starve your debut strikers - and the team did that well.

                Overall a good performance.

Traore looked dangerous????? He had a mare. His fault on the second goal. Tried taking on 3 players and lost it which resulted in a goal. Plus his dribbling while running was shocking. Kept kicking too far away from him. I don't mind the player but don't say he had a great game when he was shockingly bad

Yes I agree with this. Overall a decent performance against a team that gave us more problems than Leicester.

Funny, ain't it. Opinions. I left the ground a bit down, but have perked up. If we get five points out of Burnley, Derby and Reading I'll be happy.

Yep. Probably shouldn't start, but come on to mix things up. Still at least the new Armand looks like he gives a t0 ss compared to the old Traore.

Yep, agree with that. Derby's gonna be a whopper but we're a match for anyone in this division.

I thought Traore was ok myself, ebbed and flowed with the teams performance just like they all did and he didn't stand out as bad to me and I like how direct he has been in his few games at LW. Hoilett had a good game, went wide and cause problems, but there was stuff coming in from the other flank too. The width today was good offensively not so good defensively.

Can't say I saw it that way either. Joey & Niko bossed the midfield in the first half. They were putting in challenges and giving the ball to those with the speed and/or ability to hurt Burnley. Niko genuinely surprised me with the way he was getting stuck in. Traore had an excellent first half and kept Kieron Trippier busy defending. Trippier was a real attacking threat in the reverse of this fixture, some months ago, but was mostly negated for the first 45 minutes today.

Sean Dyche earned his money at half time & made the necessary alterations. Joey & Niko saw less of the ball. Traore wasn't allowed to run so much. Ings & Vokes put more pressure on your defensive line & the cracks appeared.

A draw was a fair result for me. I thought Burnley were a good side last time you played them. They still are. And they've been very lucky on the injury front. But Rangers have improved, in my humble opinion. And they may well get better.
