Let's be clear that losing Austin at the last minute could not be planned for either long or short term.in bringing in Doyle he has addressed the hold up player who will hopefully score a few too .He will like Charlie run all day but not hit the net as often. However he is a thinking footballer and may on yesterday's evidence bring the other front player and willing midfielders into the game more than Charlie did.Where I agree we didn't do the business was in bringing in the other striker to help Charlie all that we have brought in do not immediately seem to fit what was required. Yesterday showed what a twin strike force should look like but who would have thought that outside of Burnley especially at the start of the season. We may now be forced to play two up front more often and Johnson fitness allowing should prosper for that. Losing an improving Phillips will also not help.
We have issues now at right back yesterday showed that and we were aware of that too is Hughes the answer going forward only time will tell but it cost us yesterday and who will cover for Barton when he is inevitably suspended fro where I view no one and they knew that and didn't address that either. In my view both short and long term planning may have just suffered a massive setback
