  • Well, how do you think we did?

My personal feeling is that we haven't filled the gap left by Charlie Austin adequately enough.
Hughes will be good solid defensive cover.
    Dellatorre is an unknown quantity.
    Keane is inexperienced.
Maiga, if he signed, another one that doesn't exactly get the pulse racing.

I appreciate that Tony and the board don't want to spend millions on wasters, but £8-10 million on somebody like Rhodes would have been a sure-fire winner.

Better cross our fingers and hope for the best.

if Rhodes or McCormack weren't really options, then i like how we took gambles on a bunch of guys as opposed to 1 or 2 who were somewhat unproven (befodil, Ntep). We really haven't had a chance to see a fully fit Andy Johnson and Doyle and Maiga have something to prove. change of scenery just might do it.

this Brazilian guy though has no chance to see the field with the first team. that much is a guarantee. It was actually comical seeing Harry talk about this guy. Tony must have had this guy on his career mode in fifa or something.

Yer I agree. We needed to sign 1 or 2 strikers, but then the situation changed when Austin got injured. Although we've signed 4 strikers, not one of them are a patch on Charlie and I doubt between them they will score half as many as Austin already has. So I don't really think we are any better off. Hughes is a decent signing, but I doubt any of the 4 strikers we got on loan will be with us come the start of next season, so again it means starting all over again next season. Hope I'm wrong though and they score for fun

In terms of getting someone in to take over from Austin, I don't think we have... But to be fair we never went into this window looking to do that. Our aim was to find someone to play along side Austin and to take over from him when he needed resting. And I think we done that in Doyle and Keane. I think there would've been a good mix a variety between them 2 and Austin. But obviously at the last minute it looks like we've lost our main man Austin for the rest of the season and ended up scraping the barrel with Maiga... but only time will tell... at the end of the day we're still just a championship club IF we get promoted IMO the summer transfer window will be the big one.

Underwhelmed tbh but we now have 5 strikers all wanting to play. Hopefully that will create healthy competition.

Hughes is a good signing and he's versatile! I'm hoping maiga proves me wrong and maybe of he can get a goal early on for himself we will see a different player from the one that's been at wet spam!

I'm happy,Harry's very shrewed.Kevin Doyle's a great player ,Hughes is versatile, keane up and coming with England u 21 experience, magoo from the hammers has obviously impressed someone to hold a decent price tag and Dellatorre fingers crossed could surprise us all.financially a good window, more importantly they strengthen a strong team.well done rangers

I think Harry has done well and what he can, it isn't his fault, we have to remember that we are still stuck with some player on high wages.

Austin was a massive blow, and I don't think we'll go up this year now, but it's important to maintain good form and see where it leads us.

Nothing much to add to that, just one point though, when does the loan market open ?. Sure we could have waited on the Maiga deal and cast a wider net.

Problem with austin out long term is that if we had spunked millions on rhodes or mccormack then they got seriously injured wed be fooked! We have ensured that well always have striking option for the promotion push and if any get seriously injured we can just send them back.
Also perhaps they have better targets than Rhodes lined up if we do go up? Remy could come back and austin available. Makes no sense signing rhodes for 8-10 million when we can buy players of remys calibre for 8 million when/if we are in the prem.
                        Reflectively, im happy.

Would be over the moon brian if charlie was back in a few weeks, but seeing as hes not, we could of done better. Hughes is the best signing imo. They were just saying on bbc football focus at how shocked they are that fulham have let him go as hes so good.
