Don't think anybody is disputing that mate, what people (me included) have a problem with is his acceptance to sit & accept his wage (which he has a right to do) at the expense of his career in a World Cup year.

It's not like he needs money, the situation cannot be compared to us average joes (as some people keep saying "would you take a paycut") - he must have multi millions sitting in his bank, will never have to work a day in his life yet he is seemingly happy to accept being 3rd choice keeper to keep his massively inflated salary up - when he could easily take a pay cut (to a measly £30k a week or whatever) and play regular football.

Says everything you need to know about him IMO.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Everyone would mate , and any who say they would rather play football are just kidding themselves.

I wouldn't mate - not if I was in his situation and had millions & millions sitting in my account.

Would rather have £30k a week added to that fortune and play every week leading upto a World Cup in my home country than play 3rd choice at a 2nd tier English club to keep £60k a week coming in.

The man is strange he pays 50% tax in this country , surely he could just tell the club to tear his contract up and earn the same sort of money with favourable tax breaks elsewhere and play week in week out.

I would agree with that, but then I realised that Michael Ricketts has an England cap so there's hope for us all!

I can understand that view but he isn't risking his World Cup place as Scolari has already insisted that he's guaranteed to be in Brazil's squad regardless of whether he plays for us or not. If his World Cup place was on the line then I'm pretty sure the whole situation would be different

Not sure that's necessarily the case mate.

Julio Cesar has been warned he must leave Queens Park Rangers this month or face World Cup heartache. Manager Luis Felipe Scolari says the Champions League winner must be playing regularly.

That said, can't think of any Brazilian keepers to take his place.

pretty sure Scolari said recently that Cesar needs to move...

What a complete money grabbing waster. This is the last chance you've got a World Cup with a National Side that has a great chance of winning the World Cup & it's in your Home country! WASTE MAN
                        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I know I am in a very small group of fans here but I am glad he's staying!!!

Rate him better than Green and although I also believe Green more than deserves his place in the side for all sorts of reasons, if Green were to get injured, we have an equally good, if not better replacement already at the club.
                            In my opinion of course.

                            Now where's that tin hat.

He will be Brasil's goalkeeper in the world cup whether he plays or not , no coach would drop him for a world cup in his own country.
