  • Will it be alright on the night?

Now before ye all stag me off, this is my first thread in weeks, does anyone out there think harry might pull a rabbit from his hat and get in a striker who will improve us on deadline day ( tomorrow), it's not beyond the bounds of possibilities

I think he could do just that.
Problem is, it could be late in the day and I probably won't have any nails left to bite.

Well we need 2 strikers now, one would have done before we found out about Austin, RHODES AND Whickham, we can but dream. That unknown B kid from porto will join the Scottish kid in the academy, Big, Big day tomorrow, unless we get in at least one decent striker our season could fall apart

Harry and the board have had the whole month to sort this, now it looks like the loan market after tomorrow is our only chance, UNLESS they have actually done the business and have a decent striker arriving tomorrow

Kevin Bond admitted the club knew they were far too reliant on Austin. Now he is out - probably for rest of the season - our top scorer playing Saturday will have three goals. We have signed a previously good but out of sorts League One striker and a kid. Am not a fan who expects the board to spend millions and just laughed when some fans kept talking up the chance of Rhodes etc, but now the decision not to go for say Wells for £1.5m odd or the prolific young Scottish striker May or Wickham on loan for instance is hard to understand. If this is it v hard to see us scoring the goals to go up automatically imho.
