He doesn't drive forward and can't shoot either. I have to admit if he was a qpr lad, then I'd feel differently....but he isn't. Why are we wasting money developing a player for spurs?
And as for keeping it simple.....yes he does try to do that but for me that only works in a quality team with individuals or can influence the game and pick the key pass. We are not at that level.
It's still surprising how many professional footballers do hide or go missing though, especially when low on confidence. That's one thing you could never accuse Carroll of. I disagree that he mainly passes back or sideways, but I agree about him getting muscled off the ball too easily. He needs to bulk up and work on his upper body strength - that's his main weakness at the moment IMO.

Hope he's ok.also need Joey back ASAP, Carroll was awful faded badly in the 2nd half never seen a player give the ball away so much,
He tweeted yesterday he expected to be fit for Burnley.

Because he helps us win games and hopefully get promoted. In the same way Kyle Walker and Andros helped us.

Exactly this. BZ done quite well in a 15 min or so cameo, and somehow all is forgotten? Don't want him anywhere near the starting 11.

As for Austin's injury, he looked well uncomfortable after that. Second half down the SA Road side he kept nursing his arm and was holding it when he went down after an aerial challenge. Just pray he is fit for Burnley or we are faaarked.

Agree. Let's hope his decent cameo does not stop HR getting a replacement in eh!

Even though he scored Charlie wasn't himself unsurprisingly. Bond says he just couldn't carry on any longer whereas Harry says it was a precaution . Let's hope Harry is right although I would be surprised looking at Charlie's face and the obvious pain he was in

I think if charlie is injured for more then three or four games then we dont go up automatic. It really is as simple as that. He is our key to winning nearly every game and not drawing them.

So most of you dont think Carroll gave the ball a lot there was so much moaning around me he done at least 10 or so times, he wasn't the only one, also lost count of the times Henry got caught on the ball 2nd half ,I agree he (Carroll) dosen't drive the team forward reminds me of Joe Allen sideways and backwards not positve enough. Also bottled out of about 3 challenges when he should've won the ball. also agree I thought B.Z .did ok played a couple of nice balls that nearly created goals, maybe we should now get behind the guy, we may need him at the moment? no point getting on his back, althought I hope we get rid of him.
Please God let Charlie be ok for Saturday!!!!!!

Thats the worry with one striker though.

I just hope this player we are signing today can do the business,

No surprise Bobby looked like he fancied it last night, only 2 days left till transfer deadline day. Wonder if a Brighton scout was in the crowd!?

Blokes a joker who's been stealing a living off us for 2 years.

Charlie scores more goals for us, than any other player currently in the side.
His loss would be huge for us, there's no getting away from it.
We need to pull out all the stops to get a proven striker at this level in.
Yes, he would cost an awful lot, but Jordan Rhodes ticks all the boxes, and when weighing up the cost of buying him, against the rewards that promotion to the premiership would bring to the club, it is, for me at least, a no-brainer.

go on then, why you oh my godding? Take charlies goals out and were would we be in the table? Id bet its bottom half.
We rely on him far to much, and without him we would not go up automatic, and i would even put 'fact' to that.
