Certainly hope so, Matty... There's no reason it shouldn't, I guess. But can you keep riding you're luck? Folk were hacked off at full time, weren't they? No one sang Heigh ho, super Rangers. Or applauded the players as we normally do.

Of course performances matter but I think the way we've been playing and the results we've been getting are more by design rather than coincidence. Such is the game plan that a lot of our games are tight affairs.

Why cant we keep winning ugly? If we put in performances like tonight for the rest of the season, grinding out good results, and end up promoted, no one will be complaining.

well they should stop acting like spoilt little kids and appreciate how far the club has come from a year ago. Short memories from this time last year!!!

wow... there's nothing like optimism and this certainly wouldn't be mistaken for it.

normally to get promotion, a team averaging 2 points a game across a season would be a shoe-in. 27 games in and that's what we're doing. not 5 games in, not 10 games in, not 15 games in - 27 games in. so far we've been consistent. we'd shouldn't get complacent, but all season i keep hearing that we can't keep this form up.

an 11 point deficit is nothing to make up? well it is actually. think of it another way... reading would need to win every game they play in between now and 5 April to be averaging 2 points a game - that's 12 games in a row. good luck to them, if they can manage that.

We are 9 pts ahead off Reading and just opened a 2 pt lead up against Burnley stop being a drama queen

Good advice. And Klonk makes some very good points, too. TW is TW. He'd admire the decor on the Titanic as it sank. We're in a great position, I know. But we rarely- if ever- play brilliantly. We don't put teams away. And often, like tonight, we are rank average. I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade, but our parade is not what it should be. We need to be better. Much better. It's brilliant we're doing so well playing sometimes so poorly. But can it last? I hope so. But let's raise our game. And start by get some new players in Friday. Bobby Z could be a new signing.

I know you are right, but would you mind awfully if we just play boring and grind out results just for one season so we can get back into the premiership and become financially secure again, and then when up there start playing entertaining stuff.

that's true... but back in august, i genuinely had no idea what would happen this year - back then i reckoned that maybe we could have done automatic promotion, maybe a shambolic relegation battle, but most likely mid-table mediocrity (although even a relegation battle would have involved us getting more wins than last season). it'd be nice to be playing champagne football, 'tearing this league a new one' etc. but after last season, winning games (even games where i know we should have drawn or lost if it was a fair world) feels kind of good.

I bet some of them will be still complaining

Can't disagree with any of that, mate. Think we're on the same page. We're excellently placed to do well. I still think we 'll go up automatically, but worry we'll be second to Leicester. Funny thing is, for one of the pessimists on here, I always thought we'd be in the mix to go up from the get go....
