Certainly hope so, Matty... There's no reason it shouldn't, I guess. But can you keep riding you're luck? Folk were hacked off at full time, weren't they? No one sang Heigh ho, super Rangers. Or applauded the players as we normally do.

Four wins on the trot, but clinging in at the end against a very poor team....

Originally posted by Rangers77 View PostFair point regarding Forest. I think Reading can put a run together, so I think they're a threat. They are the dark horses. A eleven point deficit is nothing to make up. We're eight points shy of Leicester. Forget any game in hand.
normally to get promotion, a team averaging 2 points a game across a season would be a shoe-in. 27 games in and that's what we're doing. not 5 games in, not 10 games in, not 15 games in - 27 games in. so far we've been consistent. we'd shouldn't get complacent, but all season i keep hearing that we can't keep this form up.
an 11 point deficit is nothing to make up? well it is actually. think of it another way... reading would need to win every game they play in between now and 5 April to be averaging 2 points a game - that's 12 games in a row. good luck to them, if they can manage that.

Originally posted by Rangers77 View PostIt isn't, TW. Both matter. As Leicester can attest. Derby, Burnley and Reading are breathing down our necks. High point of tonight- the result aside- was Bobby Zs performance. And the two goals. Everything else was poor. Very poor.

But we rarely- if ever- play brilliantly. We don't put teams away. And often, like tonight, we are rank average. I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade, but our parade is not what it should be. We need to be better. Much better. It's brilliant we're doing so well playing sometimes so poorly. But can it last? I hope so. But let's raise our game. And start by get some new players in Friday. Bobby Z could be a new signing.

Originally posted by klonk View Postthat's true... but back in august, i genuinely had no idea what would happen this year - back then i reckoned that maybe we could have done automatic promotion, maybe a shambolic relegation battle, but most likely mid-table mediocrity (although even a relegation battle would have involved us getting more wins than last season). it'd be nice to be playing champagne football, 'tearing this league a new one' etc. but after last season, winning games (even games where i know we should have drawn or lost if it was a fair world) feels kind of good.
