His only crime is giving the ball away in a game we have still won?.. He does improve the squad, that ridiculous. He keeps things ticking over, always wants the ball.
Linked up superbly with Barton and Ale in the middle when Ale was fit.

Im all for helping his development because its what players of this country need now - Your knocking him down already and his only 20!

But I am not an England fan, I couldn't care less about internationals. I would much rather a rangers youngster gettign a chance than developing a spurs kid.

I don't agree that Carrol offers a lot. Your argument was that he was an up and coming England talent, I was just saying i don;t care about that.

Townsend (and Walker before him) offers a lot to the team, I simply don't rate Carroll.

I think it comes more down to the fact that you don't rate Carroll, which is harsh cos his 20 years of age, has a lot to learn and plays the game in the way it should be played.

I never should get him off. I think Walker and Townsend were better options than we had so they got into the team on merit. I think we have stronger formations with him excluded, if spurs want him developed loan him to a team where he will be an asset.

Carroll is nowhere near as good a player as Walker, Townsend or Taarabt before them and I really don't see him as this 'great project's at all.

But he is neat and tidy and Harry likes him, so him staying can only be a good thing.

Carroll may have potential but we have seen very little evidence of that from his performances for us. We are not a feeder club for Tottenham. You should only get into our team on form and performances for us and if that was the case he wouldnt even make our subs bench. We need to produce more creative play makers absolutely. But just becasue Carroll is small and likes to pass the ball doesn't make him a good player.. We need to produce quality players that can dictate the way a game is played and not a David Batty that dont tackle!

Carroll is totally different to walker, townsend and tarbs.. those 3 drive at defences and are game changers who have more of an impact on a game, that's why you think Carroll is no-where near as good because those 3 were more exciting to watch which is what rangers fans care about when they go to LR.

He is the type of player this country needs to produce, wanting the ball, giving and go-ing, keeping it neat.
Unfortunately for some rangers fans, his not going to take on 3 and smash it in the top corner.. his a totally diff player

Carroll may have potential but we have seen very little evidence of that from his performances for us. We are not a feeder club for Tottenham. You should only get into our team on form and performances for us and if that was the case he wouldnt even make our subs bench. We need to produce more creative play makers absolutely. But just becasue Carroll is small and likes to pass the ball doesn't make him a good player.. We need to produce quality players that can dictate the way a game is played and not a David Batty that dont tackle!

'go forward'

'all he does is pass sideways and backwards'

and just generally moan when the ball gets played backwards

Trust me there are always going to be fans that react like that at every club in every country.. I am not against Tom Carroll and think he has potential.. But his form for us so far doesnt warrant him a place in the team. Its not our job to get 30+ games into him so he is better prepared for first team football when he goes back to Tottenham. We are trying to win this league or at least get promoted. If we were a struggling mid table side with very little finance i could understand us trying to develop players for bigger premier league clubs, but that is not the case. You should only get into our team on merit. I would be interested to see how many key passes Carroll has made since he has been in our team. He has no goals and i dont recall any assists but a player of his type needs to be averaging at least as many key passes as the other midfield players in our team to warrant a place in the side, especially as he adds nothing defensively.
