We only had one striker when we tore this division apart. The reason we aren't quite tearing this division apart this time (despite having a better striker and a better all round team) is because we don't have Adel.

As for Barton he slagged off the club all last year and openly mocked us and has done relativity nothing for us since he signed yet people welcome him back yet we have a player like Taarabt who is worth persevering with as he is an excellent player and would be ideal to play with Austin and some people want shot of him very strange behaviour

I woulda turned up late as well if I was trying to push a move away from the club, who hung him out to dry when he got sent off on last day of the season.
Barton needed us to stick by him but instead we basically banished him when we shouldn't have - I woulda been hurt as well if I was him.

We welcomed him back because he and Hill had been the only players to show any sort of heart for us.. We were always going to welcome him back after that season of mercenaries.

Is Tarbs really an 'Excellent player'.. he has excellent talent but as an all-round player, his not excellent, not for me.. il settle for Niko

Barton didn't show any heart until he was humiliated in a TV game against Liverpool by his own fans.

He has shown great attitude this season after he got a warm reception that even he didn't understand or expect.

if Adel returns, let's show him the same warmth and see if it makes a similar difference.

Why would've we at least try it? It worked with one player, it might work again.

Very mixed feelings about this one.

Obviously, none of us like to have players who could be a disruptive influence or have a poor attitude.

On the other hand, he is by far the best player we have had for years and years and I have no doubt whatsoever that a fully committed Adel, even at this stage of the season would win us this league.

On balance, think I would take the chance. On the understanding that it would also be his last one.

Unfortunately couldn't agree more. He is now into his third poor season on the trot and has had numerous chances under different managers. Some people need to stop living in the past.

I quite frankly do not have the energy to comment on another Adel thread anymore.. The guys not coming back, every fan who loves him needs to get over it.
