Probably, yes... On the other hand AJ and BZ is both out of contract after this season, I could actually live with CC for the next 2-2,5 seasons.
I wonder what "long term" actually means. If Wet Spam only offered him until the end of the season then 18 months wouldn't be so much of a gamble with AJ and BZ off in the summer.
He's a better player than BZ so we'd just be upgrading our donkey to a slightly younger and more mobile version.

Indeed, there is no way BZ will be offered a new contract after this season. I don't know about AJ, most of us like him but this injuryprone I can't see him getting a new contract either. Imo opinion Austin, Carlton Cole, Hitch & one more (Rhodes?) would be an excellent set up for the next 2-3 seasons..
doesnt it tell you something that west ham on the brink of relegation because of a strkier crisis are willing to let him go. Hes another Bothroyd and Zamora
I would sign him on a short term deal until the end of this season with an option for 1 year deal for next season if successful, although would even consider a straight 18 month deal to push it through given that the club is not being linked with anyone else. At the moment it seems to be Cole or sticking with Zimmerora.

Think it is Cole turning them down more than them letting him go, especially after his recent goal scoring form.

Could be the solution to the current problem. Get him in then when AJ and Zamora depart in the summer, if we plan on sticking with one up top next season, Harry will only have to look for one striker.
