To the summer transfer window who would you like us to target.

    I'll get the ball rolling:

Heitinga - surplus to requirements at Everton. Only possible if he stays put during this window or goes out on loan and us winning promotion. At 30 years of age not getting any younger but would be a solid CB for us Imo.

Wickham - not sure what his situation is at sunderland but has been there a few years now and always seems to be out on loan. Gone off the radar of the big clubs, think he would flourish with us.

Hard to answer when don't know what league we will be in. Going to be very different shopping list if we are in the premier rather than another year in the championship.

Agree, depends where we are....Game against Everton showed we are simply not good enough as things stand...would need a serious overhaul if we went up. But a careful one at the same time.

Heitinga was a regular until this season and is only kept out of the team because of the form of jags and Distin.

          Wickham is still young.

Football scouting has to be a lot deeper than simply saying a player isn't good enough because he isn't in the first team.

Go back through the history books, it will be littered with teams that have picked up reserve/youth team players that have gone on to do well...

Never did Brian Clough any harm. They just need to have the right attitude.

Hopefully the club are already thinking along those lines. Still early days but wouldn't harm to have a few targets in mind for the summer. Especially when you consider how many will be heading out.

Main thing is not to go down the route we did last time we got promoted and sign a bunch of money grabbing journeymen with no interest in anything except for the size of their wage packet.

Either way,if we go up or not,i would rather get relegated from the prem with a squad that gave 100% on smaller wages than try to buy our stay in the prem at the cost of financial meltdown like Bolton.

Was on the radar of all the big clubs when at Ipswich so obviously something about him. Currently doing well at Wednesday.

                      Col Donaldson is the name.

Attitude is essential, especially for a team of our size. Already gone down the route of modern footballers with poor attitudes.

Might as well do a thread about who we want to sign the season after next or when we're in our new ground.

That would be long term planning for us
