Apparently the players were allowed to board first so the train company must have some input.

That's what the helmet said on talksport anyway

We are well known for being a family friendly club.

IMO it sounds like the train staff overreacting
See my previous post, they have form for it ..........

Should be forced to serve drinks to fans on the train who have spent their hard earned following them, let alone pose for a few harmless pix with the kids !
"Steve, do you think 25k is a good option when there are indications that within four years, new stadiums on average have increased attendances of 60%?
For us that would mean around 29k."

Some players would serve the drinks f acking sideways. They'd never reach the fan.

I think this is something and nothing

Like Isleworth I have been on the same train as the players before too, most recently after Blackpool, where the players were standing on the same platform as the fans who chatted together and had photos taken no problem at all. The police at the platform when they saw the players arrive tried to segregate fans and players themselves but when they saw the players did no mind mingling they left them to it.

Few players who did not want to chat stood at the far end and those that did stood by the fans

Can only assume if it was the case having lost four nil they may have thought they would have go some grief from fans, which has happened in the past!! but i cannot imagine if a dad walked up with his 5 year old to a player and said can i have a pic they would have been rejected

Another example of the media being anti QPR

What a joke!! I cant believe that.

I completely agree with you on this one.
They shouldn't be forced, they should want to!!

We all know the mentality of 90% of professional footballers, so this would hardly be a surprise.

Gone are the days in the 80's where you could meet the players and they would chat to you like a human being.
Money has taken over the game and we just need to accept this.
Yes not fair on the kids but I would rather they concentrated on what they do on a football pitch.

On recent showings that is also a pretty pathetic attempt.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I doubt if asked the players would say no. Me and my lad waited behind after a home game once to meet players, stewards tried and failed to kick us out and when players resurfaced for warm down they were happy to pose for pics and sign my lads shirt. BS IMO and more likely to some deerkedd steward/security on a power trip

The club did not provide security.

I've received this from Ian Taylor which he has given me permission to pass on here:

"I just wanted to provide you all with some background, that you are free to use on your sites.

Having spoken to our PLO (Player Liaison Officer) this morning, he and the rest of the backroom staff were unaware that anyone tried to gain access to the carriage the squad were on.

Any security that would have stopped them would have been Virgin staff and the police, as we did not take our own security.

As you know, our players and manager are always happy to pose for photographs and sign autographs both before and after games - this is something Harry himself insists on.

Needless to say, the journalist in question didn’t check any of the above before printing the story.

Happy to set the record straight. I should add Mr Durham was in first class as well.

                    Speak soon.

                    Regards
                    Ian

                    Head of Media & Communications
                    Queens Park Rangers FC"

Have now corrected the thread title.

Not by the club though, thats the point. They were oblivious to the fact.

Police and virgin staff were preventing them.

Adrian Durham says things, to wind people up, and get them to call in to his radio show, or to click on and share the DM webpage for advertising hits. These things are usually controversial, embellished or flat out bull****.

His words are carefully chosen to irritate. Like Arsenal fans before, if he feels a fanbase is starting to bite more than others, he'll focus on them for some easy WUMs, which in term drives the paranoia that he is on a 'one-man mission to destroy QPR'.

Summary: Ignore him, he wants you to be annoyed.
