Also, wasnt Zamora one who had a poor attitude too, but he is still there picking up a big fat pay cheque for doing zilch.

If you read the comprehensive article in the Standard it spells it out. The £8m option is there for Newcastle but it runs out at the end of Jan. So we can't ask for £16m now, that is Harry's estimate of what he will be worth in the summer when we can sell him to the highest bidder. The article suggests there is a power struggle between Harry and the board on this. The board want to avoid selling him because they want to get him back if we are promoted. But Harry is keen to sell - and it doesn't take a genius to realise that - ever the cash in hand merchant - he would prefer to have £8m to spend in the transfer window now than a potential £16m to spend in the summer which might be too late as far as he is concerned if we miss out on promotion. If I was the board I would be seriously unhappy about Harry sounding off. If we can double our money in five months time then that is clearly better for the club. At that mark up it wd still be cheaper for the board to borrow the £8m till the summer if nec, give it to Harry to spend now then recoup double in the summer.

Well HR has valued Remy at £16m, which I think is about right. He won't be sold to Newcastle for £7m as that would be foolish and bad business. For the sake for waiting 4 months and the WC coming up we might as well wait until the summer and get double the money.

You have to look at where Newcastle are in the league and judge their aspirations. They won't finish top 4, but at the same time they won't need Remy's goals to save them from relegation either. Seeing as they have paid £2m for the season loan they won't buy him in this window for the figures quoted. What's the point?

To try to stop them getting relegated or push for a top 4 finish NEXT season, and the season after that....SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!
