Don't know any more detail about the AJ thing but I think it suggests more than just a plain assumption that Harry was completely happy with his squad and didn't actually try to get more firepower in.
Benayoun was a free agent who became available outside the transfer window. Harry obviously thought he could do a job for us so signed him up. I expect that he would have done the same with a striker if one had been available (that he rated). I know Harry was quoted as saying we were short of strikers back in September when we were linked to Carlton Cole before he went back to West Ham.

I'm not a fan of HR the person but my main concern with HR the QPR manager is the way he has us playing. Results have been decent and promotion is very much on the cards - and, after all, that is the goal for this season.
His managerial record is very strong. When he took over Spurs they were in the relegation zone and when he left them they were in Europe were they not? He is actually a very good manager, and one of the very best English managers, and although things have not gone well recently I'm still hopeful he will take us up.
As for getting off lightly, not on this Board he hasn't! Quite the opposite, in fact. So let's not lose sight of the fact that now half way through we are one point out of automatic promotion and the return with Burnley is at LR. We are well positioned.

i support HR and think hes a great manager. the only problem ive had with his appointment is that if fernandes wants to build a legacy and put a project in place for years to come at qpr why appoint a manager whos close to retirement. their should be a younger man in place who gives the ehmers, hitchcocks and petrassos a go in the side every once in a whilei supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

I'm all for playing youngsters if they are good enough. My personal opinion is that if we had ehmer, petrasso and Hitchcock as first team regulars then we would struggle a lot more in the short term... It's good coaching to let them ply their trade with lower league clubs and get them minutes... The way I see it is that our squad/ morale was a complete embarrassment prior to this season and in one summer Harry redknapp has lowered our wage bill and created a great team bond! And a team that's third in the league.... How many other teams that come down from the prem recently have done as well as us...
Come on Harry see us through this bleep and shut these blind moaners up.

I would think in Remy's case we would be covering some as when he joined us instead of Newcastle the wages we offered blew them out of the water. We all have an opinion on HR some love him and some not so keen, who is right ? The facts are yes we are 3rd halfway through the season and yes we are the lowest scorers in the top ten or so teams. Can we bore our way through the 2nd half of the season or do we do what all the teams around do and go and win games? We had a points cushion on Derby and Forest that was double figures at one point not no more.

What HR has done to over turn the squad from last season has been brilliant but I honestly find some of his decisions baffling.
Why play a full strength team against everton with no youngsters? Yet bring Hitchcock back from his loan
Why didn't he sign a striker? Why sign chevanton, onyewu and not play them or try them.. Why are we trying to play like Barcelona in the Championship?
Maybe im being harsh but im certainly not entertained going to watch Rangers this season under Harry.
I see these other clubs in the Champ trying 1 or 2 of their home grown talent and playing well and still being up near the top! e.g. James Paterson hat-trick hero against the Hammers.
Think his gone a little too far with the 'im gona sign players who I know'.. cos unfortunately there all over 33 and only pass sideways or backwards.
Sorry HR lovers

It may be just me but he seems to have a bit too much of the 'untouchable god like' feeling around the place.
Like Rangers would be too scared to sack him cos its Harry Redknapp? - Reality is, its been mediocre and his getting away with a lot...
1 - So many chances to buy a striker and all he bought was midfielders and old players when I thought we were buying young hungry players from now on? e.g. Matty Phillips!
2 - Not using the young players we have who have quality! - Max Ehmer, came on once, didn't do himself any hard when we needed a CB.. next thing shipped out on loan and we buy another 35 y/o... Hitchcock - Scores a winner! doesn't get another look in! Shipped out on loan, scores 3 in 6 (in league 1) - only the league below us! - He gets called back from loan only to not even make the squad against Everton when he should of played!
Petrasso - On loan at Oldham, turned Daniel Agger on sixpence yesterday and nearly scored! Not even a sniff for him as a young hungry forward either!
I don't get Harry's thinking sometimes - and we wont get out the championship playing so much tika-taka football as we now do!
Swansea, just about scrapped it via play-offs, which is where we will finish I reckon.
I'd like to see the young boys we have on our books all on loan in league 1 given a go! and when Harry leaves at the end of the season, id like to see a young manager in to be honest - Were apparently a club who wants our academy to thrive - So where are the chances for them!QPR fan since1987
