I'm not talking about our youth mate although I agree . I'm talking about scouting an unknown youngster and getting them in sharpish for a small fee , like we used to . Other clubs do it all the time yet were constantly shopping in the knackers yard . Austin and Phillips aside

Agree with you bud - i see all these youngsters in the champ playing for top sides like Knockhaert, Ings, Vokes, Ince, Will Hughes.. and then i look at us linked with Maynard etc.
Last few season, were only even interested in players that come with a name, so to speak.

Been a while since we signed young and hungry players, like the other champ teams. Bar austin and Phillips..
      No more old timers!!

Or the top players from the league below , someone with something to prove rather than a big time charlie who's earnt his money . We must change our strategy and get a decent scouting network in place

Can't remember the last time we scouted a decent young player and got them in on the cheap and under the radar . ****** infuriating
Ale Faurlin..ledesma..who we let go too soon...hoilett was supposed to be another but can't play more than 2 games before his hamstring goes. As many on here prove football is full of impatient people wanting instant success, after we went up many on here were mocking the likes of Norwich for their signings..demanding and getting "champions league Players" getting in young players is a massive risk and requires time..something which many on here are unprepared to give

Give Hitchcock, Petrasso a chance for a game or 2.. off the bench.

And then HR, should go and get Nakhi Wells from Bradford!.. But wait.. Harry doesn't know him does he and he'd be far too in-experienced for old Harry...

I'd love to see us invest in someone like nahki wells!! Would hate to see us overlook him for someone like cole!!

Is Maynard still quick as he was?

The younger route and taking time to mould them into a team is the much preferred route for me . Yes it takes time but you reap the rewards in the long run . Look at Swansea . We seem to love to throw dead money at **** players . I understand that this window we may have our hands tied to an extent but we must start thinking about changing our transfer policy long term

and 2 goals for WH in 14 apps :(

Nakhi Wells all the way for me!

"What he thinks he knows" more like, getting a guy who has scored 3 goals in the last 2 years to solve our major goal scoring problem would be a complete joke, and to let AJ go as well would really expose Harry ' s managerial abilities

Pretty sure his managerial abilities are exposed sometimes anyway.. all he does is drink tea, put an arm round players and in training say 'play it on the floor fellas'..
Been working reasonably well up til now though! could get found out in the long run maybe?

Bottom line.. DONT get Nicky Maynard!!

I agree..but the Meltdown that happens on this board means that no one is given time anymore ..one or two bad results and we need to change the manager..the team..etc etc

A team of youngsters would be given a very short honeymoon.

Well if that's his stats he will more than likely be a qpr player soon enough!! Though wont judge him until see him play!!

this is where I get frustrated - nahki wells 2 millions quid and won't be a fortune in wages and prospect for future but we want a has been injury risk!!
