I rather spend 2 million for an upcoming player then 2 million on wages, promotion bonus ect etc ...for a has been striker with no sell on value.

According to the Bermudan Sun newspaper,Wells,who is a Bermudan international,is in the last year of his contract with Bradford and if not sold in the January window they will lose in the region of $1.62 m (approx £1m?) on his valuation,so perhaps HR is trying to do a sneaky deal less than the £2m that Bradford want,but naturally there are other clubs interested.

Don't know why fans who want Wells are depressed by that development. If you buy a house - and you have any sense - you put in a low-ish offer to test the water. It might have elicited from the Bradford chairman the amount he is looking for. Meanwhile, it is early in the window and the club can compare the likely prices and relative abilities of the possible players. Its basic business sense. If Mittel immediately agreed to every deal that was put his way his total wealth wd be considerably smaller than it is right now. This clearly shows we are pretty keen on Wells. Maybe they are seeing how much they might be able to get Jelavic or AN Other for and comparing. Maybe they have someone better in mind and Wells is a backstop. This is good news as it shows we are in the market and happy to open the cheque-book. Not sure what some fans expect?

Think fans are just afraid of how we handle transfer periods in the past, leaving things late, miss out on targets, no plan B and of course all of the sudden do panic buys on the last transfer day.
Also one has to be aware that if we buy on the last day in the transfer period it will probably take a month or longer for a new player getting settled and used to his new teammates.
Certainly as we lack any of philosophy of playing style under Arry.
So we are looking at the early March to expect the best out of a new signing, things can be all done and dusted in the Championship considering 1st and 2st place in the table.

Arry hasn't convinced me yet with his wheel and deals in transfer periods.
Hope this will change.
