The reason I ask is for a number of reasons... Before I pop down a few thoughts I just want to quantify a few things... I have not been to a match yet this season... In fact I can't be bothered to even try but, it was after witnessing so many lame performances up and down the country from Villa Park, The Hawthorns and an assortment of other far flung grounds. In fact it's been so long since I have seen us win I think Nelson Mandella was still in Borstal and Maggie was being hounded by the miners, or that's how it seems anyway.
I have children and grandchildren and ongoing childcare and family commitments (dare say there are many in a similar position) so, living on the Kent coast sometimes for distant away games it's a huge effort winning enough Brownie points from the Missus to get to go. Also, it needs to be worthwhile enough to forgoe spending time with my 7yr old son(who I am desperately trying to indoctrinate into being an R's fan but to no avail, Minecraft and Regular Show or Sponge Bob Square Pants are much further up his tree and he has absolutely no in interest in football let alone the R's. He has said numerous times that he doesn't want to support QPR.... Man that's tough to hear and, as a father of 3 older daughters imagine my joy when we finally had a boy.... Even better getting into the PL whilst he was 5 and just becoming aware about other kids supporting 'other' teams)....
I am aware that many will have lost the will to live and stopped reading by now but for the other bloke I'll soldier on.... My arms are killing me so I'll try and be succinct......
It was obvious that R's were going to lose but, from what I was hearing on Talk Sport (what's with that antagonistic halfwit Adrian Durham got against Rangers... He absolutely despises us and you could hear the glee in his voice whilst we were being humiliated.... PRIZE P.R.I.C.K as far as I can make out).... Anyway you get the point... Geezer who lives about 80ish miles (and longer depending on which way you go) from the pantheon of world football LR, financial commitments, valuable spare time issues, so if it's pelt and I am missing out on quality family time and hard work getting a golden ticket to watch my beloved R's... I want it to be worthwhile.... Once things improve then I will restart the process of earning enough credit and missing out on family stuff to watch my team in the flesh... I don't care what people think of this as its my life and money and there's loads of mediums to watch and listen to games so I can live with that as second best.....
Right back to the main theme of my topic... Is it not just best to bite the bullet on the quality of the football if we get the results and gain promotion? In essence we take our medicine for being so awful and embarrassing during our brief but horrendous time at the big boys table(Chelsea.h.i.t.e results aside of course).... However, there is still the ultimate prize at the end of it all and that is being back in the PL (which I know is a separate debate... For another time)....
But, and here's the dilemma and other side of the coin as it were..... Why should fans put up with such insipid football that only(and I know this bit is always amazing..) provides the occasional goal to celebrate but a positive result (De Facto) a win....
I think that if fans are going to such extremes and sacrifice then they deserve far more than we are currently being fed.... Crikey how we are where we are I'll never know....
Still I'll be as delighted as anyone and would gladly go up through the play offs if we could guarantee the win....Too many losing finals at Wembley and would love to be there when we won something.....
Anyway if we do go up then if we could sell the vision... New high tech training facilities, a 40K amazing state of the art stadium based on being close to the action (LR is an embarrassment and he'll hole as far as I am concerned.... Unless we have just had an amazing win then one can tolerate such archaic facilities....
5 very good players could be persuaded.... GET MALKY ASAP....
That's all folks.....
