    ...are diminishing already.

Harry admits he is v unlikely to get Defoe for two months before he goes to Canada. He has also admitted Kane is unlikely as it would leave Spurs with just two strikers. Unless Harry is playing a clever game of double bluff he doesn't seem interested in Wells, and in any case Harry is emphasising at every opportunity he wants "experienced" strikers. Jelavic is reportedly a target of West Ham, and however short-sighted it might seem players go for struggling Prem sides over promotion hungry Championship sides every time. And it looks as if West Ham are - no doubt to the relief of many on here - going to keep Carlton Cole. I know fans will shout "Rhodes" or "Long" but in the first case I can't see Tony paying £10m and in the second I can't see him coming to the Championship. So who does that leave????

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has spoken publicly about the situation with Cartlon Cole.

He claims talks are ongoing with the striker:

"We've got that in mind. We're talking about that as quickly as we possibly can, because obviously it needs to be addressed."

Its either we pay an inflated fee for someone like Ings or Rhodes (as you say i cant see it happening), Wells we could get for around 3 million i think but Harry doesn't seem interested. Or play Hitchcock and see how he does. Why oh why didn't we get this sorted in the summer!

Who says we didn't try? A bit difficult to attract the "right sort" to an aged, overpaid, just-relegated squad that is in the process of being rebuilt. Harry and the backroom team worked wonders IMO to get in the players that they did (and shift the dross out) during the summer.

I have a feeling we will go for Wells. Exsctly the type of player that Harry and the board would agree on.

Wells is currently odds-on to go to Hudds
Wolves ahead of us at 6/1
              We are 10/1

Will be surpised if he comes to us

Think we are looking at Jelavic over and above all others.

Pretty sure we will get a 'Booooooooooom, Jelavic has signed' thread any time soon now. I just posted in the other thread, its only us and west ham in for jelavic, and the hammers have just signed a big fark off seven foot striker from the ivory coast called lacina traroe. Whoever he is.

That'll be the fella we were definitely signing in one of the last couple of windows.

Don't panic folks, Bobby Zamora will put his injury woes behind him and start banging in the goals for us just like we all expected when we signed him!

Good news for us about Hammers. I don't doubt your timing of the "boom" thread but in terms of actually signing Jelavic my hunch is that if we stand any chance of getting him it will be right at the end of the window - you can be pretty sure he and his agent will be offering him to every single lower half Prem club first. He also has to weigh up leaving a club (albeit as a bit part player) looking good for a Champions League spot v a team in the Championship.

                            The answer is in Leicester.

Someone must of said something somewhere mate, cos hes evens to join us and no other player is anywhere near that. Im just wishful thinking and hoping the bookies are right cos we need someone badly. And he would be blinding.
