Turning out to be a class player, a very good signing by Redknapp indeed.

Can't understand why he never started. His touch for the winner was sublime. He set it all up with a great piece of skill. Our best player I think today.

Nail on the head with this thread.

He had a great game today. He's young, very talented and still got bags of potential.

TW had the answer to that apparently Redknapp thought Hoilett looked better in training

W12 shocking game though. I really think that might be my last game of the season. I am backing you over tony being overally loyal to a v poor manager yet again
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                TO BE FAIR...

Both Hoilett and Philips don't actually deserve to be in the side on recent performances but who else do we have for natural wide. Of the two Philips has been slightly better as Hoilett has been shocking of late so that doesn't really say much about Philips' performances. However, yesterday I thought Hoilett started the match the best he's played for us all season. Rangers really did their homework as we were getting a lot of success down the left side for the opening 11 minutes before he went off injured and when Hoilett went off we stuttered badly and it changed the game. Doncaster then came into it and were by far the better side in the first half. In fairness they should feel hard done by because they deserved more from the match and the result was very harsh. We got out of jail with the winner at the end but that's football and hopefully this might turn the players heads/be a turning point for our season.

Phillips grows on me more and more each game. A good football brain(which is more than can be said for Hoilett), capable of beating his man with an eye for goal. Unless he was carrying a slight injury yesterday I cannot fathom why Redknapp would leave him on the bench as IMO he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. Also arguably our most creative player with an end product, I like him.

Did he manage to repeatedly skin one of those dummies?

Yes before crashing the ball into the kneees of another dummy on the corner of the 18 yard box

Not sure why we are laughing though, it's about as frustrating as it could be.

Still, be interesting to see who gets to play wide left whilst he prepares for another game and a half run. My guess is either Kranjcar or O'Neil, being the two worst possible options.

Why Phillips was not starting yesterday only HR knows.
I know that in the last 3 games we have actually scored, Bournemouth 3-0, Blackpool 2-0 and Doncaster 2-1, Phillips and Austin have scored in them all.
When it is hard for the team to score, why leave the one who scores out - this is the qouestion

Phillips is a good player and should start in the side. he might even be able to play alongside Austin.

Although he would be good up there with Austin I think his biggest strength is his runs down the wings, taking on people and whipping crosses in. And if he's put up front we take that option out.

all we need IMO is another target up front, like they say "two heads are better than one"
