A good solid old school type of striker. He doesn't moan, he doesn't dive around, he just gets the job done, quality!!!
    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

Now Hoilett is injured again maybe we will play Armand as left wing to get those crosses in.

i think that is a decent shout. Traore can deliver good crosses when in the mood.

No Austin = No wins = No promotion.

Indeed. One of my favourite goals of recent years. Stoke away Traore's cross to Heidar and bang!

He's mustard but better than Remy? Don't think so!

About to say the same thing. Not in the same league (excuse the pun) as Remy.

I wasn't counting Loic, cause lets face it he played those few games for us, he won't play anymore.
Back to Charlie the lad never stops running, always looking to get in the box, and height he got....great goal

Not knocking Charlie but if its true he is the best since Les - and this after just 20 odd games - its a bit of an indictment of our strikers over the last 15/20 years.

What about John Spencer though? Surely worth a shout.

We've had some decent goal scorers in recent memory Furlong, Thomson, Spencer and Remy (who I actually forgot) some will throw in Gallens name too

For Me Les is the pinnacle and then it was Furlong but Austin for me has the potential to eclipse all up to Ferdinand and if hes here long enough possibly surpass him. Good shouts about Remy but in all likelihood he came and he got off had he spent a few years here then yes he would have been a magical player but I don't think we will see him in the hoops again where as Austin could be leading our front line in 4 or 5 years time

Good points but to quote the late QBlockPete things change quickly in football. We thought Diakite, Mbia and all sorts of other signings would be part of the set up for a long time when they first arrived but it didn't happen. We don't seem to do stability at our club! Also he has done well in the Championship. Ten games without a goal in the Prem and I can only imagine some of the comments on here about him (not from you but from certain fans...).

Smashing point and a great discussion point would Charlie score in the prem.

From what I have seen I think we could as he is to me an all round kind of forward as some have said hes quick enough, works hard, can shoot with either foot and is good in the air. If a prem side put the ball in the right areas he would score.

Hoping he can be out Lambert if we go up. Any side in the prem who has a forward that can get 15 to 20 goals has a chance of staying up and I think he could get that return with the right service

He would 100% score in the prem, I'd love to see him up top with Remy, perfect for each other and 30-40 goals right there IMO
