      It's a very odd viewpoint to keep insisting upon on a fans website IMO, that the support of and emotional involvement with a football team is such a piffling little thing.

      The point you make is of course true to the extent that it's not a physical necessity, but suggesting that people are foolish for caring as much as they do is deliberately missing the point of it all.

      I don't view supporting QPR as something that I can turn on and off, it's a part of me, and has been since I was a toddler. It certainly doesn't destroy me emotionally (at least not like it used to) when we lose, but I am still affected by the games, the joy, frustration, elation and anger is all part and parcel of it. If we play badly or lose, it does affect my mood, at least for a while.

      It's not something you can care about when things are going well, but shrug it off with a smile when its bad. Not how it works for me, and most fans I imagine.

          Yep. Emotional involvement/attachment to anything is a powerful thing and should never be diminished. It's for real.
