    Exactly

I'm just bored of the idea that we get picked on more than anyone else, by the media, the refs, the FA and so on, when it's us as fans who scour the press for every scrap of news about our club, and therefore maybe don't have a decent view of how other club's achievements and failings are covered?
Don't think the FA have picked on us. They handled a situation or two particularly badly, but we were not adversely affected by any decision.

As for the referees, well, they are in the main just weak and incompetent although nowhere near as bad as some of their assistants. Could be forgiven for thinking they've just been plucked out of Westfield's, happy to escape the shopping.

Can't think of another club where the press like to overstate their points quite so much as with us.

Although this is the most open Premier League for many years, it is still somewhat of a surprise to see Bolton Wanderers sitting proudly i...

Interesting article (circa 2010) about Boltons historic debt, seemed to have been controlled at about £23m but then went up sharply in 2010 to over £90m then relegation. We now have the recent breaking news of debt over £160m.
Most of the debt appears to be owed to the main shareholders.
What does surprise me is how on the surface a generally well run club in the premiership for a number of years can end up so skint. The other club that always surprises me with massive debt is Everton.

This is the reason their chairman Gartside wanted to do away with relegation from the prem a couple of seasons back.
Hard to have any sympathy for him when he wanted to stitch other teams up

The thing that surprised me most about them is that for a club of their size, history and achievements, that no really wealthy investors came along to buy them.

Then, one morning at about 4:30, whilst chatting to their chairman on the way to an all night diner as it was the only place he could get another drink, he explained that there had been offers, but he wasn't prepared to sell up simply for the money. Loved the club far too much to put them through a fiasco similar to that which Liverpool had to endure.
