I'm serious.
Look at the teams below us - only Barnsley, Donny Rovers, Plymouth, Scunny and possibly Palace will realistically stay down there in my opinion.
I really feel we are in danger of being sucked down into the bottom six and involved in another fight to survive - and that word worries me, ie "fight".
I don't see any players with the stomach for it.
Many will think I'm mad but have a look at the current malaise around the club with open and un-biased eyes for a while:-
Paladini - alledgedly pulling the strings in the transfer market still and when the smelly stuff starts flying he'll be looking out for number one again even if it means conducting sackings via message boards etc etc. I certainly wouldn't put my trust in him signing the RIGHT players to see us through the seaon come January.
Flavio - likely to fire from the hip again without thinking and may even step in to pick the team again. His alledged rule by fear wont instill any spirit in the squad.
The fans - we are fractured, splintered and unhappy. This is largely due to stupid expectations being raised by our wonderful marketing department, skyhigh prices and then watching a team of mercenaries dragging themselves round the pitch.
The squad - no leaders, no winners, bloated in areas, massively over-paid and as individulas go:----
Cerny - people say he's the best in the division. WAKE UP! Un-decisive, prone to mad moments and will have a poor game every 4th or 5th.
Borrowdale - absolute tosh. Poor in air, positionally woeful, slow, a bottler and un-fit. His only cover is our best centre back and he's here for another 3 years.
Stewart - simply doesn't care and always prone to one serious error a game. Waltzed around like he was off for a pleasant stroll at times on Saturday.
Gorkks - not a happy bunny at all at moment and rightly so. I hear a whisper is going round he's had a massive bust up with Magilton after the Plymouth away game. Great.
Ramage - limited but gives 200%. How will he feel having watched Legs play like he did v Posh?
Routledge - our top scorer which in itself is a huge concern! Too easily defended against once you wise up to the fact that all he does is push the ball past his marker and use his blistering pace to get onto it. Also rumoured to gladly jump ship if the taffies come calling again???? On absolutely hugemoney at the R's though.
Central Midfield - the best player I've seen there this season is Watson and he's not ours. Faurlin is neat and tidy at times but does seem bewildered at times. Looked this way up at Scunny and I'd question if he'd be the man in a relegation battle? Mahon is probably one who would be of use but is also one dimensional, un-popular with fans and on his last legs. Rowlands - mmmmm, the injuries keep stacking up, can he be that leader we need? I doubt it and cant see the fancy dans paying much attention to him.
Strikers - do you remember them? The two fellas who played up front, linked up and scored goals to win games (if you've forgotten what this is like then the front two for Posh would be good examples -- knew where each other would be, worked off the ball tirelessly for each other and looked a genuine goal threat). Jay Simpson will run all day for you but having seen him twice it's already obvious to me he's not the answer at this level. Does his loan deal mean he has to start every game?
Tarrabat will NOT score 15 goals a season.
Vine is a sad shadow of the player we had before and that is so sad to see.
Heidar has gone both in terms of fitness and confidence, another shame as could've offered so much.
Pellicori - don't think we'll be seeing much of him. What a waste of wages.
And now the man, the one, the only... Patrick Ageyawn. Got to be the worse signing GP has made when you realise he is on an obscene amount of money and just could not give a flying one about the club. Like a version of Steve Slade, Chris Kiwomya and Eric Sabin all wrapped up in one player.
Management / Tactics - poor, very poor. The team is set up to suit the squad ie heavy midfield bias. I recall us singing to John Gregory up at Ipswich "We'll never win - with one up front - we'll never win with one up front" yet we're now persisting with this formation with far less suitable players!!!! As I said above there already appears to be a few rifts developing and I don't see Magic or Gormless being able to motivate players to put their bodies into 40-60 tackles.
On a positive note..... Ipswich are currently worse off than us! There's also that list of 5 clubs who could quite easily make up the bottom 5 in May.
So come on the positivity crew. Give me some!!!!!!!!!!
