A double edged sword for me T. Love the idea of selling promo, having ones cake and eating it!!

Have a crack at this then pal:

Three guests check into a hotel room. The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10. Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25. To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests. On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally. As the guests didn't know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep $2 for himself. Each guest got $1 back: so now each guest only paid $9; bringing the total paid to $27. The bellhop has $2. And $27 + $2 = $29 so, if the guests originally handed over $30, what happened to the remaining $1?
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

If football is not in the entertainment industry then I'd like to know which industry it is in.

Some of the responses to the OP seem to imply that winning and entertaining are mutually exclusive. Not so! It is possible to both entertain and win. Unless you are managed by Harry Redknapp, apparently. And even the winning part now seems to be departing town.

If there isnt a goal by just after half time wednesday you can guarantee there will be 'harry out' and 'you dont know what your doing' shouts around the whole ground.

Don't think its in dispute that football is not in the entertainment industry.......it's that football, by its very nature, cannot guarantee entertainment. If you go to the theatre, for example, you know exactly what to expect, what you will get for your money and being entertained is guaranteed.....not so in football, so you pay your money and take your chances and hopefully don't whine when you come away, having not got what you wanted!

You must be luckier than me. I've seen lots of cr@p movies. And I don't think there's anything wrong with having a whine about them either!

Of course you can't guarantee that any particular match will be entertaining but you can play a style of football that emphasizes winning by scoring goals. Just as Manchester United have done for decades. I'd be prepared to stick my neck out and say it has worked quite well for them. And I'm sure you remember that we used to play that way too. Even under NW we were entertaining, even though we were not an attacking side, per se.

Why spend all that dosh on a ticket plus all the other stuff' travel etc for a boring end product and then come on here and moan about it!!! DONT GO!!!! Is that not common sense?
But boring is a part of life. At no point have I accused Rangers of being boring (although they are, ha, ha). My point is that there are certain things in life which defy logic. I support QPR and I get grief. I love my girlfriend and I get grief. But loving keeps me going and QPR are a part of this process. I would never diminish an individual's emotional response to something in their life which means something - that is the definition of being patronised. People respond to life in many beautiful ways...there's nothing wrong with that.

                  That is a fair comment!
I wasn't accusing you per se of saying qpr are boring.....it was aimed at the OP who says he was bored, but still shells out his dosh to be bored, week in week out. Don't get that mind set.

Completely understand your point...just highlighting that love skews logic. I love the Rangers and I love people who make a difference. It's not something I can control logically. The things which make me laugh and cry just do and I have no control. I guess that's love...

Well ,i agree with the OP ,,ive been going since 81 and cant remember a Rangers team playing such boring ,negative football .
I`m still going to go though because its in my blood , and a good chance to catch up with old mates ( and new ), but f uck me its been tedious at times this season.
Winning for me is not the be all and end all ,good attacking football is ,and that is the football i grew up with at Rangers.

You have Mourinho and Pellegrini, both successful managers in charge of talented teams. Jose says he can win more games so possibly more titles if he plays tight (boring to some). Manuel likes to go for it. Jose might edge it in terms of trophies. Who do you want?

Neither. I'll take Fergie who probably won twice as many titles as the pair of them put together and did it with open, attacking football.

You watch the match on the computer and it's boring, so what you can switch on sky and watch Chelsea/Liverpool and enjoy. You're some poor sod who went to Watford in the cold and then got the train home, you might begrudge the lack of entertainment.

That's why SB is in QPR folklore, he entertained and got us results. Think it's too simple to say it's all about results.
